I love patricia arquette
I worked at L'Occitane. My coworkers weren't too bad, mind you we didn't have very deep conversations, but I didn't get to know them all that well either since we mostly worked shifts alone (or at least I did, working in the evenings).
What I got sick of was all the lying. Telling people that a body lotion containing "organic grape extracts and cypress oil" would help drain retented water in their legs and reduce cellulite.
It's BULL****, ffs.
Part of me thinks it's people's own responsibility to think for themselves and not let themelves be seduced by advertising. THen again I also felt like an arsehole at times for selling people stuff like that when I'd basically lied.
Having to treat the subject of cosmetics as if it was the most vital part of our everyday lives was also quite tiring.
It irritates me when saleswomen lie to me. There was an annoying one who wanted me to buy the clinique 3-step system or whatever it's called. I politely told her I'd had a trial kit of that, and the soap was too harsh for me and the toner contains too much alcohol.
Then she begins lecturing me about alcohol, saying that clinique's products contain a "special" type of alcohol that "cares for the skin" rather than drying it out.
It says on the bottle: "alcohol denat.". THat's denaturated alcohol. Completely ordinary alcohol, the same type of drying alchohol that there is in any other skin care product.
Argh.
Sorry for being slightly offtopic btw.
