| | | ginger hi!
so at the minute my hair is a nice enough ruby colour, but what i really want is to be more of a carrot top. do you reckon if i just threw some bleach over my current colour, it would ginger me up?
this is it at the mo:
this is kind of what i want, but GINGERER:
any tips? ideas? ps this is a diy hair ruining project. |

| | Your hair colour is absolutely beautiful! why would you want to be ginger? no offence or anything.. but, yeah.. maybe if you got like a very weak volume one it would do the trick? I dunno though.
You should just keep it as it is though! |

| | hi!
i'm no colorist or anything but i'd imagine it would be pretty hard to go from what you have to what you want all in a day's work. i'd sit pretty until your current shade fades (and sitting pretty is an expression but also it is true you see) a bit, otherwise... i don't know. i can see bad things happening. i see dead people. |

| | I don't know how to do hair, but ginger is an amazing color. I have the most absolutely ridiculous little crush on a redhead boy with that bright ginger color.
I will say though, putting bleach over that color could possibly be a disaster, I think. |

| | This is what I have been using Compare Prices on L`Oreal Feria Hair Color #74 Copper Shimmer 1 Each. Not to sound like a twat but I have been getting alot of compliments on my haircolor since I've been using it. It is very vibrrant and coppery.
the shade that i've seen on you in the photo thread is lovely and suits you very well. you are adorable.

| | I was longing to be ginger for so long yet was a tad scared so just kept putting all different shades of red on my hair until i found the perfect colour. I bleached all my hair out only to put a ruby colour back on top again however i am now officially ginger!
I used Nice N Easy Natural Auburn. I recommend doing a shampoo bleach to lighten you hair slightly (i can't not see any images as i'm at work and all image hosters are blocked so i can't see how light/dark you hair colour currently is.) But basically my hair was very near the end so putting bleach directly on my hair was not an option!
Mix up your bleach as normal, use the lowest volume as possible and just pore 3/4 large dollops of shampoo into the mixture. Make sure it doesn't contain conditioner. I just used cheap shampoo from my local supermarket.
Mix it all together until it becomes a thick shampoo and literally just put it into your hair as if your were shampooing it (maybe do this over a bath or sink or something) and wrap it all up with Clingfilm until it's light enough.
After doing so condition hair and dye the next day with your desired colour.
So basically I highly recommend Shampoo bleaching and Nice N Easy light auburn. |

| | | my hairdresser told me to put powder bleach in my shampoo to lighten the colour.. I've yet to actually do it.
I loooooove your hair colour though sundaygreen. It's exactly the colour I want.. right now it's very dark auburn.. in the light it looks bright, but usually it's almost plum.. I'm not too stoked on it at the moment.
what dye do you use? |

| | | I start from strawberry blonde hair but I'd try mahogany red colours. It may have a more redder effect in my hair because of my natural colour though. My hair colour shows through any dye so... |
