| | | yup yup I was just looking around online and I'll have to invest in the ghd, a major stretch considering the state of my bank account right now but probably worth it. Ceramic straighteners have changed my life, no joke. |

| | | Straight hair is dull.
I only bought GHDs to curl my hair! They are the best if you want to do flicks or curls or waves. |

| | I have GHDs but I hardly ever straighten my hair. It's only now it's brown again that I bother. But if you're gonna do something, do it with the best

| | | ghds are good obviously, however im sure many other big branded ceramic hair straighteners that are about £50 cheaper work the same as ghd thesedays as theyve all caught up with ghds (like hair straightening technology wise? or whatever?? haha

| | | I got a pair of ceramic straighteners for £30 from superdrug and they work just as well as ghd's. I have had mine for 2 years and they havnt blown up yet, where as I know a few of my friends that have had their ghd's go bang. |

| | | I think any ceramic straightener is good, even the ones that are ceramic plated are good [in the sense that they will straighten your hair...I am not talking about the chance that they can burn your hair, too haha].
I don't really know what is the best brand, but I always look for something that is pure ceramic [which are usually a little pricey] and those have always seemed to work great for me no matter what brand.
I used a CHI once though and it didn't get my hair as straight and flat as I like it to be when I straighten my hair, but that could have also been because I had my friend straighten it for me. I already have a ton of volume so when I straighten my hair the last thing I want is that.
Jesus Christ, I just looked up the GHD straightener since I had never heard of it and OMG that is one expensive straightening iron!

| | | BTW, Folica.com has TONS of straightening irons, from the more expenisve ones to the not so expensive ones. They all have ratings and reviews and it is pretty useful. They also have a sale going on right now which is really good since they are selling expensive ones for some affordable [at least what I think is affordable] prices. |

| | | GHDs will burn your hair more than cheap ones because they reach 200 degrees in heat, my hairdresser told me that even sprays to protect your hair act as hot oil when you use GHDs. |

| | This is so weird a while ago I made a thread asking for good straighteners and EVERYONE recommended CHI irons, and now it's GHDs
But I swear by the CHI. It rules me. I could never get my hair nice, and my hair is obviously (as shown above) extremely curly. The CHI straightens it and makes it flat and soft in 30 to 40 minutes, and doesn't damage my hair. I use kerasilk and my CHI, and I am ready! |

| | | I had GHD's for ages then got rid of them because they were killing my hair. I now have some remingtons which are better for my hair. |

| | | I have a WAHL cutex which is pretty good, and i also have a remington wet2straight which is also handy. The WAHL makes my hair look prettier, but the remington is much quicker to use and handy cos i can use it while my hair is still damp. |

I only use them once a week max anyway and my poor hair is a wreck to begin with
