hair bleaching

i know there have been threads about this before, but they all seem to be regarding bleaching hair to a whiteish blonde from black, so i thought i could just about justify making my own one. my hair is naturally red/auburny, quite a bit lighter than in the photo below (i'm the one with glasses), and i want to bleach it blonde. in a couple of weeks, i want to put a nice babypink colour over it, but i thought for the meantime it'd be fun to be blonde =)
i've bleached most of my hair before, the last time it was bleached was nearly a year ago, but since then it's had a bunch of colours in it, mostly pink and red. the colour in from the picture below has faded quite a bit, but there's still colour left in my hair. is it ok to bleach that out?
and will i end up with a nasty orangey colour?
i want to get it a really light, but not white blonde colour, but without my hair getting all grumpy and ill and breaking off. any tips? a lot of people here seem to bleach their hair, so i figured kittyradio was a good bet for advice =)

Cool photo! awesome color!

Well, you should decolor it first, that's what I do when I want to dye my hair in a lighter shade than my natural hair color.

Good luck!

my friend just bleached her hair from the colour yours was. she was hoping to dye over the bleach too. here is what colour it went from bleaching it once:

so yeah it kind of does go a bit orangey, but thats over red hair dye, its to be expected.

you most likely are going to have to bleach it more than once, two times probably will be enough as your hair is short. but it would be best to do the bleaching a few days apart from each other to let your hair recover a bit/so the bleach actually takes to the hair again. putting leave in conditioner on over night helps make it less ****ty aswell, so after the first time id say do that between bleaching it again
