| | | Your worst haircut/style What is the worst hair cut or hairstyle you have ever had?
poodle perm, mullet, terrible dye jobs?
2 years ago i made the mistake of going to a hairdressing colouring school where they do hair for free. i was really convinced by what the hairdresser was telling me, but the end result...they cut it all off into this terrible bob and then dyed it red. the whole thing did not suit me at all! i looked terrible, i went into the salon with long blonde hair and came out with short red hair
worst part was the whole thing was free so i couldn't ask for a refund or anything.
please do share yours. pictures if you feel brave! |

| | | recently i had a bad haircut
back in october
the guy made no effort
he cut it straight across the bottom
no layers what so ever
no shape to it at all
no movement
i looked like a cavewoman
oh on top of that he straightened my hair w. something 2x the cost as previous and it wasn't even straight
i made this face at him and he knew i was miserable about it so only charged me for the straightening product and not the services
i will never go back there
i went somewhere else by the end of the week to get it fixed, which i have never done before in my life but it was so awful it made me cry everytime i looked at it
about 10 years ago i had a similar experience
this lady tried w/ the cut but didn't understand my hair (most people don't)
she used the razor on the ends and it was awful
i looked like a rat w/ the cut
and i also had her dye it a blue black , my hair is naturally dark brown
she had insisted it would be so much better than manic panic
it was a total rip off
you couldn't see it AT ALL
i doubt i will ever get my hair professionally colored again

| | | i have curly hair naturally, so it has to be layered as to not look like a pyramid.
well, the one hairstylist i went to didnt get that curly hair tends to stretch when its pulled down and shrink back up in its naturally curly state.
she gave me a mullet b/c this concept was too far advanced for her.
i didnt get a haircut for 2 yrs after that, and i wore it up everyday, pinned so none of it would fall out and look terrible.
i cried so much after that haircut, im still real iffy with hair stylists. |

| | This was a fairly bad moment for me:
Two weeks prior to this photo, it was bright RED like that. An hour later, it was black and quickly pushed down to the deepest darkest corner of my memory never to be thought about again. I think it's funny now.
Oh and the short hair was ill-advised too:

That was the result of dying my hair red (with permanent dye, after pre-lightening) and then my usual every-other-day washes for two weeks. It's unbeleivable how much the colour faded. Now the only colour that goes near my hair is bleach, and that's purely to do the two blonde streaks I like to have.

| | | Probably dying it black for like three years. Ugh. It was just SO BAD for my hair which was down to about my waist. I finally woke up and had it chopped off up to my chin (which was probably my worst hair cut) and grew out the black that was left. Four years later my hair is down to my bum and totally virgin, it's so much healthier. |

| | I used to request a "trim" rather than a cut at the salon because it cost $5 less and I never got a new hairstyle, just split ends cut off and layers redone. However, because I was getting a trim, I wound up getting stuck with the new girl -- literally, it was her first day on the job, and had I asked for a "cut" she wouldn't have been allowed to do it. It was awful. She didn't really talk to me or ask me anything, just cut some off the bottom and told me I was done. I asked her if she could freshen up the layers and she sighed at me and then attempted to do so. I could tell it was bad but didn't tell her I didn't like it because I wanted her scissors away from my head. I cried on the way home and went back the next day to have it redone, and made sure it was by someone more experienced. The stylist who fixed me said something about my growing out bangs, but I hadn't had bangs in 6 years -- she thought that the "layers" that the other girl cut were bangs that were growing out and needed to be blended into layers. I wound up getting a great cut from her though. I didn't have to pay anything but I gave her a big tip |

| | | A few years ago I had my hair rainbow colors with special effects dye. I bleached it first, and dyed it purple, and then after that I dyed it fire engine red. I don't regret that so much, but after I had my hair those colors, and the red faded, it turned into this pale hideous orange, and I just let it grow out for WAY too long to the point where half my head was black roots and the bottom half was pale orange. |

| | | haha that reminds me. when i was still in school, i once decided to put blue, pink, green and purple streaks through my hair. UGH.
and then there was the time that i dyed all of it bright pink. it was awful. i just don't think i can carry off unnatural hair colours.
what i hate most are all the years i had a standard fringe/bangs thing going on, with the rest of my hair hanging to my shoulders. it's so boring on me. these days i might look look like i haven't brushed my hair for days, but i still prefer it.

| | i'm going to vote that this "shag" hairdo i had from when i was old enough to get haircuts until i was 10-11 is the worst. a decade of bad hair probably traumatized me in some way.
i think this haircut is semi-trendy for hipsters now. |
