I once went in for a French perm. My hair ended up looking like it was cut by a mental patient in the dark. I was quite distraught, and made the lady "fix it" but it still looked like shit. |

| | | I once went to have a haircut. It wasn't meant to be anything drastic but as she snipped away she ended up cutting my hair into this awful short boy hair. I went in with hair that came down to my shoulder blades and walked out with hair that didn't even reach my chin. It was horrifying. I'm still scared of hairdressers. It took me 2 years to get my hair back to normal. |

| | | I remember precisely ONE horror story, because as she was taking care of my hair, I saw all black, and I'm not even joking, I was VERY close of getting up and leaving right there. It was last summer, she cut it WAY too short and bad, not flattering at all. my hair POUFFS and so it pouffed, and she couldn't iron it correctly, and i mean at that time i owned the SAME iron she was using on me, and she wanted to let me go like that shes like 'is this okay" i was like "well not really, I never saw my hair looking like that after a visit to the salon" im not a snobby costumer, but i mean i want a nice result, and she totally fucked it up. as i was staring at her doing my hair in the mirror I saw black, i wanted to disappear right there, she basically was complaining about her hand hurting as she was blowdrying. and shed be like "like this or that" and im like "well i usually wear it like this but what is your advice?" and shes like "well idont care it's your hair" she was SO rude, but she was telling me about her life and how she's going back to uni, and asking all those life oriented questions, but when id talk about the hair she made me feel SO insecure. i ended up telling her "yes it's ok" and i grabbed the straightening iron myself and ironed my own hair. i paid and went away. I never asked for my money back from the salon, so i never thought much, but i was very frustrated, i ended up cutting my own hair myself to equalize it, and then my friend convinced me to go ask for money back, they gave me a credit, i went to the spa that was affiliated with them and they did a way better job. blah |

| | | A few years ago I went to this salon that I've been going to for years, since I was 14 years old. My hairdresser always did a really good job, I fucking loved her. Anyway, I get to my appointment and the owner of the salon is like "Your stylist quit this morning, but we have someone new that could take you." I was going to a party that night so I was like "Whatever, let the new girl do it." OMG this HUGE, 500lbs Hispanic chick comes out, with SHIRLEY TEMPLE ringlets, tight jeans and a tube top. She's one of those people that breathes out her mouth instead of her nose, really loud, a fucking nightmare. As soon as I see her I panic, but I was to embarrassed to say anything since I was already in my chair, my hair was shampooed etc. So I explain what I want, she does it, it is not what I wanted. The whole entire time her cell rings, she picks it up "YO wassup, yo goin' to that eminem concert?! Hook me up with them ticketzzzz!" This was so fucking terrible, and I wondered WHY on earth she was hired in the first place, this salon was nice. I could tell that the owner and other girls were really scared of her too. I swear she intimidated them to hire her. Anyway, I go home, dislike my colour, call them back and set up a new time for her to fix it. I go back, she comes out and SCREAMS at me "Whatchu been tellin' mah boss yo!???!!?" This was just too much hassle, so I left. Never went back to that place. |

| | | when I was 15 or something I had bleaced my hair at home. not a lot tough, just a couple sades lighter... but my hair started looking kinda orangey after a while and it just didn't look good.
I went to the salon to get it dyed nicely and the hairdresser suggested he dyed it a dark blonde with some highlight. I hate highlight when they are not done well (ie look like stripes) so I talked to him about it for like 15 min that I didn't want it to be streaky and I wanted it to blend in well.
2 hours later I looked like a fucking ZEBRA. Fucking hell. I was soooo pissed. The "highlights" were like stripes in my hair, exactly what I had been afraid of. On top of that I already have dry hair and my hair was just completely damaged and dried out.
In the months after that the color started fading and doing weird shit and I got all kinds of weird streaks in my hair and my hair was soooo damaged and fried.
I had it dyed dark brown (at a different salon!) which fixed the problem for a while but the weird streaks started showing again after a while as the brown faded.
After that I dyed it red and then I cut it really short because I needed to start all over.
I have another horror story, but it's about waxing:
I went in to get my eyebrows waxed but the lady made the wax way too hot and burned me and I had this stupid red spot over my eyebrow for like a week! it was so embarassing.
Then I went in to get a bikini wax (Brazilian) and the same thing happened but this time in a far more painful region!!!! I was about to fucking sue the salon. it was BAAAAD.
I've also had really awful facials because they tend to use products with a lot of perfume and my skin is quite sensitive. |

| | | 5-6 years ago i decided to cut my hair (which was straigh and long at the time, sigh) very short. The hairdresser said that it would have looked perfect on me. I ended up looking like i had a huge mushroom on my head and everyone at school was making fun on me, calling me mushroom-head and nice stuff like that.
i hated it. |

| | Getting my hair bleached 'platinum' blonde, which in reality was a bright yellow barbie hair with slight candyfloss pink tone to it after years of previously dying it red.
It literally glowed and to top it off i had to go to college that afternoon with neon glowing barbie hair. I hate leaving the fate of your hair in the hands of someone else |

| | argh, i went to a hairdressing school to get my colour done for free, my mother's idea, and never again.
they just slagged off my hair and said they wouldn't leave the house if they had hair like mine
i went from having shoulder length blonde hair when i went in, to a short neon red bob when i left. i was horrified.
the thing was they had convinced me it was good idea and i would look great but it wasn't.
everyone told me i looked better blonde, which i knew. so i had to wait a year and a half until i could go back to blonde because of the red dye.
i would never get my colour done in a hairdressers again. i barely even like going for a cut now. |

| | | when i was 15 i went to a salon to get my hair dyed pink, like kelly osbourne pink. (i was 15. shut up). my hair was dark brown so they had to bleach it, then dye it pink. they didn't bleach it properly, bits were still brown, bits were orange, bits were yellow so when they put the pink in, some bits were still brown, some were purple, some were bright pink... oh it looked so shit.
that was when i started dyeing my own hair and i've never had a hair disaster since... except for when my friend convinced me to let her put red streaks in my hair for an assessment at her hairdressing training college. that was also a disaster and looked terrible.

| | | When I was 13, I wanted a haircut like Natalie Imbruglia had around 1997-98, short, choppy, but feminine.
The hairdresser must have been deaf or something because she cut all my hair like an inch-short all over. I didn't wear makeup back then, because I wasnt allowed to (lol), so I went around looking like a boy with tits for a long time. There are no pictures of me from that period at all. |

| | | a while back i had my hair dyed black. it had grown out some but never really faded. i decided to change and wanted to go for a more medium brown/auburn color. well the color never really took. it worked on the parts that had grown out but not the black parts so i had auburn on top with black on the bottom. this was even with the dye being left on for an hour. the stylist fixed it for me but it never really did get the effect i wanted. |

| | I went to a new salon that my friend recomended. I wanted a short messy pixieish hair style (kind of like drew barrymore's old style.) I even brought in a picture. Bitch cuts my hair and then blow dries it back. My hair was red, so I had a fucking ronald mcdonald hair style. Horrid. I started bawling and the manager comes over. Brought me back into the changing room to calm down and explain exactly what I wanted. I pulled out the pic, she looked at the pic and then my hair, and was like So she fixed the cut, and then she gave me some product and told me to do my hair the way I wanted it.
The manager asked the woman who blow dryed my hair why she thought that that would be a good Idea. I am glad they didn't try and make me pay.
One other time I went to get a blunt bob and it ended up being about 2 inches shorter on one side. |

| | | I have loads.
pig dog ugly hairdresser cut my hair so that it was shorter than a boys, like I had about one inch of hair, then dyed it the colour of period clotting, then SPIKED the one inch of hair up so that I looked like a scary dyke.
another hairdresser bleached my hair as I wanted a nicole richie blonde. Anyway, it went fucking ORANGE and she burnt a bald patch in my scalp that was very noticable and never changed it, just left it orange obviously thinking I wasn't going to complain. I came in the next day and demanded it was turned back to brown.
I got dreads when I was about 14 to make myself look even more teenage and puppy fat fugly and the woman did them and covered them in hair glue so I looked like I had dandruff. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
