| | | Colonic Hydrotherapy I'm thinking of getting a colonic to kickstart my new year detox. Has anyone had before and if so what was your verdict? I'm quite adamant that I want a female therapist to carry out the procedure though but other than that don't really have any qualms. |

| | | It was really popular with princess Di and nothing but good reports from anyone who's done it. Both guys and women have told all sorts of stories of what came out. Everything from big pieces of Broccoli to lego bricks that were swallowed 20 years ago. Its good to get all that encrusted crap out. |

| | | I've only heard good things too, apparently it's quite therapeutic and makes you feel instantly lighter and cleaner with brighter eyes and skin. It'll set me back £60 but I think it'll be well worth it. |

| | | colonics are amazing-if done correctly.
i know someone who had sinus problems, allergies etc...
and after getting colonics she's never been better.
it's the only thing that's helped her...
apperantly she saw parasites come out of her and she had to go
for repeated colonics until all the parasites were gone.
she also had other problems {that i won't go into}
and getting colonics is the only thing that helped her...
and ofcoarse changing your diet helps to
keep your insides clean and easy flowing.
you should go for it! |

| | | I have had them and I like them...however, you will probably have to go for more than one to get everything out. But once you're done with the initial pooping, you feel fabulous and light. |

| | | Just try googling local holistic therapy centres in your area, or through the yellow pages or maybe even ask in local health food stores where there may be leaflets. |

| | | I want one but could never ever cope with it. I'm very easily embarassed and shy about my body - I know the therapist has seen it all berfore, but it would still freak me out too much. |

| | | you can feel the water go right in your colon it works by filling up your colon with as much water as you can take ... then the water is realeased. the colonic i had was alternating between warm and cold water - and you - the session is lots of repetition of this. you can really feel the water go in your colon. don't be shy about your body, she literally touches your backside for like 10 seconds. |

| | | I tried stuff called Oxypowder that's a non-laxative colonic cleanse. The stuff that came out the first time I took it was black. I get really weak and tired before I get my period so I liked taking it once just before I got it, and I'd instantly feel better. I'd like to get more, but it's fairly expensive (to me anyway) at $50 a bottle. |

| | | it's completely unecessary. your colon cleans itself. the things about whole pieces of broccoli being stuck there are urban legends.
if you want to clean out your colon, eat plenty of fibre, less fat and drink a lot of water. that will do it.
hydrotherapy is potentially dangerous (the bowel can be perforated). also it upsets the balance of bacteria in your gut
if you had parasites, you'd know it beforehand and that's not the way they're treated anyway. if you have other problems like constipation and tiredness, see a real doctor. |

The colonic I think is advised to be done in two sessions and thats all you need. It only upsets the bacterial balance if its over-done. Mostly Ive only heard of women over 40 to take it, young ones havent been around long enough to 'have that much up there and take the full benefits,' so in a way most people dont need it at our ages. |

i've had two procedures looking at my bowel, a colonoscopy and a barium x ray. beforehand they give a laxative solution. i crapped out everything that was in my bowel, and there was no huge chunks of food or bits of lego or years of other things. i got to watch the whole colonoscopy procedure on a screen and my bowel was squeaky clean.
i've asked a gastro entrologist about this sort of thing and they said it was a dangerous con. i am much more inclined to believe them than anyone else. |

| | You are only 23 so naturally there would be much up there.
As for the specialists, they'll fuck you over just as much. I know a woman who was take blood pressure medecine for a few months and her kidneys started to fail, I told her it was the meds the doctors were giving her but they 'ran tests and said,' there is no way that is was the meds, it wasnt the meds. Then a news report comes on her t.v. about the exact meds she was taking and about a bad batch of them was on the market and several people have died already. Syptoms include kidney damage.
Trust no one.
I guess the colonic will still go on until someone comes back with bad reports and then people will stop doing it. If its bad for you, the public will figure it out time enough. |
