| | | Body Hair Removal I don't care what gender you are, this is a discussion of those that have body hair (arms, chest, legs, etc) that they remove. What is your method? The methods that I know of that aren't super expensive -
1.) SHAVING
2.) DEPILATORIES
3.) WAXING
4.) EPILATING
I've tried shaving, I can't take the stubble growing back in. It's super itchy, ick. I have Nair for Men but I'm too scared to try it after seeing all the horrible reviews after buying it and I can't find Veet for Men in America. " Andre For Men Extra Strength Hair Remover For the Body" and Veet Hair Removal System, Gel and Bladeless Tool have really good reviews, If in reality it really is just putting a cream all over your body, waiting, rinsing it off in the shower and having it all fall off I will defintly check into that. I've never tried waxing or epilating but I really want to.
Which requires longer hair? Epilating or Waxing? The newest, most expensive epilator out is the Emjoi Optima and it has a lot of good reviews. It removes hair as short as 0.5mm (i have no idea how short that is..)
So yeah, give me all your experiences and shit. I hate body hair, it hides your skin and you can't apply lotions and stuff to it. Ugh. But I need the most effective/easy/quick way to remove it. If the depilatories are really easy like I stated earlier I will probably go with that. |

| | | for the bottom half of my legs from the knee down i just shave. it's quick and easy and doesn't give me ingrowns. i use the pink venus razor with the shaving gel that goes with it. for the top half above the knee i wax. i use nair divine salon wax which works really well. i use an emjoi gently for my underarms. for the hair on my forearms (i have dark arm hair) i use marzena (sp?) hair bleach for body but it takes ages on my hair. i use it on my stomach aswell. and for my pubic area i wax or use the emjoi.
then after i always skin doctors "ingrow go" to stop ingrown hairs. and i also have a mit from a beauty place to exfoliate with which also stops ingrowns |

| | | Epilators=extreme pain.
I use nair, which is a bit irritating to the skin. Or sometimes if I don't have the time I just shave.

| | | I usually just shave, but I've used Nair a couple of times before I went on holiday and it worked fine, lasted pretty much the whole time I was away and no burning. Most things do burn on me, my skin's pretty sensitive, but I think I probably used the sensitive formula. |

| | | I wax and shave and bleach. I dont like creams because I feel like they make my hair come back worse. I shave armpits and legs.

| | | I've never waxed but Id say its best used for legs. Shaving is okay for anywhere else. A depletary cream (Veet is the best) is best for a bikini line. |

| | | I've had horrible experiences with nair. It burned my skin and left a really bad rash, and I didn't leave it on any longer than the directions say. And also when the hair grew in, it was stubbly just like if I had shaved it. I think nair just sucks.
I shave my body hair and wax my face. I've also gotten laser hair removal on some areas. It is not permanent but it does drastically reduce the hair and make it grow much slower so that you can wax less often. |

| | | both nair and veet can leave a rash which burns and later scabs over. it would do this sometimes and not others. it was crapshoot, really. |

| | i waxed for years and then realised that 2 months waxing cost could get me an epilator and now i love it!
everyone says they're painful, but if you're used to waxing then it's easy.
get an epilator everyone |

| | | what can and can't you use an epilator on? if you have sensitive skin can you still get a rash from it? i'm just wondering because i wax above the knee and i'm getting tired of it because i'm crap at pulling the strips off and i get distracted and it takes me two or three days to finish up. would an epilator be quicker and easier or just the same? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
