| | I've always thought faux tans were tacky... spray or UV. But I've decided I really really need a spray tan
I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and would feel much more confident in my 'kini with some color. Then I can just play on holiday instead of spending time developing a tan.
One of my best friends has china white skin & is very beautiful.
So no dis-respect to the pale & interesting types, but I want to be golden.
I've used wax at home but have decided I may as well have a proffessional wax a few days before the tanning so I'm all nice and polished. Then there's no de-fuzzing to worry about while away. It's only a long weekend but it's gonna be epic and I want to glow. |

| | | My tan is really uneven and I have to wear a strapless dress for an evening thing. If I go out and tan on the beach, will it even up or will the darker parts get darker and so on? |

| | | thanks for the advice everyone.
for the record, i'm not planning to turn into one of these awful orange skinned girls you see, i just want a VERY light tan so i don't look like i'm at deaths door constantly. i'm dark haired, with dark eyes, but pale skinned, i look like a goth constantly. anyway, my method of tanning right now is in the garden with suncream on, revising for my exams.
now that's multi tasking. |

| | | Because Summer is coming up and there's no way anyone is getting me out there without tights, due to my legs quite possibly blinding everyone, I've been using Dove summer glow lotion - basically it's that stuff that gives you a 'healthy glow' (i.e. makes you look remotely less white.)
Seriously, the stuff is a godsend. I was very skeptical, but me and two other housemates use it, and defo all noticed the difference. My legs/arms have a hint of tan - enough to be able to go tight-less thank god (it's so fucking hot!)
I no longer feel blindly white, go me!
Anyway my point is, I'd defo recommend using any sort of that stuff. My housemate uses Superdrugs own brand and she swears by it. |

| | | you dont get streaks with this stuff as long as you put it everywhere. im using hawaaian tropic island glow and it works very well. not orange or anything. its as easy to put on as any body lotion would be. |

| | | Just to make sure I understand what everyone's been saying here about the gradual/subtle self-tanning moisturizers:
Jergens = bad
L'Oreal = bad
Dove = good
Hawaiian Tropic = good
Does the Hawaiian Tropic come in different shades? I think Dove only comes in one shade (medium). Also has anyone tried Olay "Touch of Sun"? |

Im using Olay right now. Ive got olive skin as it is, however after 5 days of applying it i can see a difference in the lighter parts of my body. It smells good and works great. |

now that's multi tasking. | I try and do it the real way. No sunscreen and start for very short periods (5-10 min). If you get no results from that and don't burn at all, then up it a bit.
I have ghostly white legs that don't seem to get any colour, even if I spend 30-45 mins in the sun. It's really annoying and everyone is blinded by them. |
