Hair Quality...

I have awful hair breakage going on at the moment, which is quite distressing. Does anyone know of any vitamins, supplements or hair masks which help improve the strength of hair and stop it being so brittle?

Thanx.

hair mask: Keraphix by Nexxus. it's a protein reconstructor.

Supplements: brewer's yeast (also helps with clearing skin and general health), biotin, msm.

there's loads of supplements out there that have a combo of hair benefiting vitamins. Uually hair, skin and nails vitamins. check the contents and try to get one that contains both msm and biotin and some other stuff. then take the brewer's yeast on top of that.

Go to the hairdresser and get all the dead ends trimmed off. The hairdresser can also give you suggestions based on your hair type. I recommend Biolage products...I've been dying my hair repetitively for the past few years, and my hair is naturally fine, so it began breaking off. Biolage works wonders, and I love their ultra hydrating balm. Terax has a good reputation as well. The shampoo you use doesn't make so much a difference as your conditioner does. Always buy a good conditioner so your hair locks in moisture and stays strong.

There are lots of anti breakage shampoos, conditioners, deep conditioners, and treatments on the market. It's all about experimenting and seeing what works for you. A good diet is essential as well (vitamin c and protein deficiencies are notorious for causing hair breakage). And don't overuse the blowdryer.

I also suggest checking out hairbyt.com. Tina Cassaday has a banana conditioner recipe that works very well. I tried it some time ago and it helped solve my hair breakage issue.
