| | | clogged pores are not clearing up! so i had avera acne for a few years but with antibiotics treatments and the Diane pill i got rid of the actual cystic-like acne and infections. I do still get the occasional pimple but it's under control.
I now am using mainly natural products on my face. I use Clarins Pruifying cleanser and use clay masks and aloe vera and rosewater.
My skin is under control but I still have a lot of blackheads and clogged pores (on my cheeks mainly, right next to my nose, they also seem to be enlarged) which I just can't seem to get rid off!
I use clay masks and scrub with honey+sugar once in a while but they're not going away!
what can I do.? I just bought a facial steamer which I hope will clear my pores. Should I squeeze the clogged pores after using the steamer?
I've been taking brewer's yeast as well for about a week now cos I heard from people it has skin clearing qualities (and also aids hair growth which is always a plus ) any experiences with this? (it's also sometimes called nutritional yeast or beer yeast)

| | | book a facial in a spa and ask for extractions. Don't try to squeeze your own pores, it can result in scarring and blemishes.

as long as you have some common sence you can always squeeze them a bit. if they are many and small go see someone. |

a facial CAN make you break out. It's your skin releasing toxins. if you do break out from facials however, I'd seriously reconsider your skin care routine.

Any beauty therapist worth the money will do an assessment beforehand and if you say you have sensitive skin will use the appropriate products.
seriously people, this is your face. if you're going to get a facial don't go bargain shopping, look at the spa you're visiting and the quality of the products they're using.

use your steamer, then use a mud mask. don't rush things, blackheads are trapped oils. Aveda makes an amazing exfoliant that's almost a toner in terms of gentle.
I'm also partial to clarins exfoliant that you pat into the skin and slough off after. you need to get militant with your skin. but in a gentle way.

| | | Use a product with salicylic acid. Combine it with AHA if your skin isn't too sensitive. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble so it can go into the pore and dissolve the dead skin and debris and unclog your pores. The neutrogena acne mark peel is really good, or just a plain aspirin mask (dissolve uncoated aspirin in some pure aloe vera). |

| | | My three favorite things for pores right now:
1.) Vilantae (Vitamin B5/Pantothenic Acid). Reduces skin oil, reduces pore size & helps with acne on both face and body.
2.) Biore Pore Strips, they have some that you can use on other places besides the nose. They are kind of hard to find but I love them so much.
3.) Biore Pore Minimizing Line, I loved the Shine Control products (especially the moisturizer) and I really love the pore minimizing, I use a mix of the both.
Oh, and to the i'm-sure-must-be-oh-so-lovely person that gave me that sweet little reputation.. Vilantae isn't available in stores and I buy all my Biore products from Walgreens so I REALLY don't see where WALMART has anything to do with this post.

| | | oh . i totally forgot about the aspirin mask. I used to do it a lot!
I did it yesterday and today as well after using my steamer and my pores are almost completely clear, almost no red marks and tighter pores! aspirin is a fucking miracle. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
