| | Curly hair frustration. I swear im about to cut it off grr I have very thick, curly hair. Like Chris Cornell Soundgarden circa 1991 (Bad Motor Finger, like that picture)
Ive been growing it out for about a year a half now, but unfortunalty right now its in its akward stage and I feel like I cant do anything wiht it, so I usually just wear it up or straighten it.
Does anyone have any ideas of what to do with my hair, its really frustrating. I dont want to cut it-im growing it out but it was so much easier to manage and style when it was really short, but i miss have long hair it looks the best long. Its really frustrating. Curly hair is so annoying and unmangeable.
Does anyone know how to make soft waves?? Would it work even though my hair is THIIIICK. ?? |

| | | you can try getting it chemically straightened
i have done it a few times
it doesn't get mine perfectly straight but it decreases the number of days where i literally want to shave it off because of the frustration of it, which i have also done before and would recommend for a try in the summer sometime when you aren't feeling like having it long
but its a bitch to grow out
i own so many hair do-dads its crazy
but i often need to put some part of my hair into a clip because its just really thick and too much

| | | Are you saying that you haven't even trimmed your hair in a year and a half? If so, then you really have to trim it. You can't go that long without trimming it because it will start to look and feel really shitty. You don't have to trim it any more than an inch. |

| | | Get layers cut in it. They won't really decrease the length because they'll not cut off the bottom part, but layers will help the shape adjust so that it's flattering as it grows out, and will take bulk out of the hair. Layers are pretty much essential for curly hair, actually, so get them ASAP. |

| | no, i have it trimmed. I had it trimmed about 2 months ago, and I already have layers, I get new layers cut in about every couple of months. I think that part of the problem because it gives my hair more volume..and when its curly i dont need more volume lol.
and yes-I'm a redhead.

can you post a picture so we have an idea of what your hair is like?
sometimes with curly hair, less is more.
