need a bit of advice here from the ladies...

if some boyfriend cheated on you, you caught him, and after denial he completely broke down and fessed up and there was a very emotional goodbye after which point you became a borderline alcoholic, read self help books, tried to get over him, the whole "closure" kind of thing.........

and then after 6 months of total incommunicato, he messages you again and wants to be friends. he obviously re-iterates that he hated he cheated, felt guilt for a long long time, but misses just knowing you, isnt trying to get back in your pants, just wants to somehow be friends...if you are over the entire incident.

would you think it was basically irresponsible of this dude to want to try and be friends again? even if you only had a 3 month relationship, and now its been 6 months since the split.....if you are still not completely over it, is the guy a dick to just try and show back up in your life? or does it sound reasonable and respectful enough to have at least waited 6 months and act completely repentant.

we chatted for a few hours on msn recently, all the same wicked personality connection was there again....but she still said she wasnt ready to just go out for a coffee and talk like friends.

Well cheating is sooo not cute, and it hurts people. However, 6 months is a fair bit of time to get over just a small 3 month relationship. So you don't want to sleep with her or try and get back to what you had, you just want to be friends? I think thats productive and just casually nice. She is obviously dramatic. Just make sure 500% that you let her know you don't want to be anymore than friends before she gets on your wagon all over again..
