So he gets all weird about an old friend of mine, which I'm sure is jealousy because at one point we did date. And this friend has a history of making totally innappropriate comments to me about my relationships. But he's my friend and I call him on it and it's my issue.

It's just making me really angry that my partner is being all 'I don't like that you're friends with him'. Which is pretty laughable really, considering that this whole argument happened over me having him as a myspace friend. And that this old friend lives on the other side of an ocean and hasn't had a real conversation with me in months and months.

i hate when people, especially my bf, tell me who i should be friend with. i don't want him to be best friend with all of my friend, but he should at least respect the fact that somebody's my friend and should respect my judgement. if i hang out with somebody is because i like to and we have something in common.

exactly. I like his friends but I don't think I'd ever throw a tantrum about anybody and tell somebody they shouldn't be someone's friend.

Is he friends with any of his exes? Are/would you be comfortable with it?

the thing is that he's not. Not that I can see anyways. But even if he were I wouldn't feel weird. I'm friends with most of my exes. I think it's a sign of a healthy breakup if you can still be friends with them. This particular break up was messy and weird and we didn't speak for months and months. He went after some girl who he'd said in the past 'reminded him of me'. It WAS weird. I AM guarded around him, but I also figure that being an ocean away there's some distance. It's not as though I call him up or anything. The husband got all weird that I'd 'friended' him on myspace. That's what's pissing me off. Like I'm not allowed to associate with somebody. As though I'm not trustworthy or sensible enough. it's myspace ffs. it's not like we've got this great friendship or it's some big secret or whatever. it's just annoying that I'm getting challenged on it.
