when u came out? How did u do it? What was the response? Are you glad you did it?

16, badly, indifference, yes but kinda wish I'd left it a couple of years.

i came out when i was 17 on Christmas day and felt as tho i wrecked christmas for everyone... my mom said she was ok with it but 5 years on still aint and harbours a grudge... the rest of my family (including my die-hard macho brother) have been amazing with it. I'm glad i did it and i am very happy.

i think its really sad that the way society is today makes it a little harder to come out. i respect those who arent afraid to be themselves, and not hide who they are.

cheers hun... the main reason behind my mom not accepting it is her background. Our family is from Northern Ireland and my grandpa was a very staunch protestant who instilled a sorta 'fear' into my mom and her brothers that certain ways are not godly ways and my mom obviously is projecting this.
