the gays on okcupid seem to be the smarter, less-prone-to-hookup type.

i've gone out w/ two men from there when i was in portland and had a great time.

well.

the first one, we bar-hopped on NW 23rd and then went back to my apt. and drank and did laundry. we didn't go on any other dates (lol, i think i killed it w/ the laundry), but we remain friends on facebook. i also remember sitting in some cozy-bar w/ him that night and insisting that i keep my shoes off. so, i was barefoot in the bar. on a first date. that may also be why there weren't any follow-up dates.

the other one. we went to boxxes downtown, which was lame because boxxes is lame. but, we had an otherwise good time.

none of the gay profiles seem to be too creepy, but i can't vouch for the straight guys. i think straight guys who use dating sites are a little creepier than gay guys. just because. well, they should have other options.

I mean just a straight up "here is my bod..savor!" approach is gonna attract males...but whats in question is what type of males

and I get the feeling that you are looking for a dude who is nice looking, has his **** together (mentally-emotionally), has professional aspirations (even if not outrageously wealthy) and a brain that can go beyond beer pong......so I think the portfolio approach would be best for getting some bites on the line from that type of fish.

also..be clear and honest about your life/professional goals when describing yourself. that way he will not be all paranoid about what you bring to the table or what he brings to the table.

anyway thats my 3 cents.
