This thread is about tigz but I just wanted to say that my boyfriend agreed tentatively to move with me to Melbourne next year so I can study special effects makeup, for 6 months to a year and rent out our house. Him buying a house isn't the end of the world, you could rent it out or something.
sound advice.

and reno will be there if you ever need to go back.

you bf is a straight up ASSHOLE, going from hay babe yeah u wanna move to portland and bring me with you, cool let me think about it and get back to you. TO hey babe guess what not only am i staying in reno but im buying a ****ing house and would you mind helping me out with the mortgage?

i couldn't decide if it was assholish or not.

that she'd be paying rent on HIS mortgage while HE gets an investment and she gets...rent forevs w/ nothing to show.

i know her the best, and i think it's better if her name is NOT on a mortgage w/ him or anybody.

but the outsider's perspective does make it sound really dickish.

and i suppose it is. practical. but with slight undertones of dickery.

He never said if my name would be on the mortgage (am I even spelling that right? I'm not a grown up.) It was my impression I wasn't going to be on it out of choice. I would be paying rent anywhere.

If I stay with him it'll go to a house of ours.

If I dont , there's no legal obligations for me to run like the wind.

The commitment phobe is me guys. No strings is me.

if he buys this house and is letting her pay cheaper rent and allowing her to quit her job to start her business, then it's beneficial to both.

however, a house is a lot of responsibility and while the mortgage might be cheap, you still have taxes and insurance and untiitites that add up quickly. plus, if anything happens to the house, repairs can be majorly expensive.

but if she's not happy in reno and really wants to move away, it might be better to follow her heart. problem is, she's not ready to leave sassybeard just yet.

it's a huge decision. i can see why tigz is so torn.
