i would love to date an engineer, i just dont work in the engineering field so its kinda hard to meet any.

the pet deposit for my apartment complex is entirely too much (400 per pet) otherwise i would have brought my kitty with me. he lives with the family right now though. so he's mostly happy. id like to think.

ive thought about getting a second job just to pass the time, plus i always meet really interesting people working in retail (which i've done for several years) but i dont have the time for a night job.

the health clubs here aren't stellar either. and most don't offer the classes i want at a time that's convenient for me. id love to take yoga again or belly dancing but i can't do a tuesday class at 10 am if im at work.

and the thing is, i lived alone for over a year before this and i was fine. but i also knew everyone in town and had plenty to do and was walking distance to several bars.
now that i dont know anyone and i have a "real" job i am lost. being a grown up sucks.

well as long as you're feeling negative nothing you try is going to work. i'm not judging, i've been there like twenty million times. but you'll snap out of it i bet. and when you do, this place looks pretty good? Calendar: Flying Monkey Arts

Just do something random- you don't have to do a class that is academically fulfilling. I did a pottery class and a portuguese conversation class at my local adult education college whilst I was doing my masters. I just felt like doing something different and it was fun to go once a week and chat with a totally different group of people whilst I mangled clay into things vaguely resembling mugs.

i have decided that living by myself (without having to pay all the bills alone, the roommate, who still has her stuff here without actually staying here is still going to pay her half of rent and util until the lease is up in december) is awesome. i can do whatever i want to the apartment, which means im cleaning ****. and she's not here to stop me. she's a packrat and i despise clutter so this has kept me from being bored or lonely over the long weekend.

i've also been emailing back and forth with someone who posted a craigslist ad about just wanting to meet interesting people in the area (and he doesn't seem creepy. so far we've talked video games and books and music). so that helps stave off the feeling like i know absolutely no one in this area.

so yeah, despite having not left my apartment all weekend. good weekend was good. i got to clean and i cooked and i baked and i read 2 books and i played some video games. somedays, i really enjoy my solitude.

CL seems to be a popular choice for less outgoing folks. I've dated a doctor from there for a year, never again. She had a single friend and nights of TV shows isn't my idea of fun. I love my social circle and always in the mood to meet new people. Naturally my mate has to possess similar attributes. Music tastes, books and all that has a very little merrit. You pretty much know if you have a smooth flowing, free and uninhibited conversation you got something. If one is just playing alone it will fall apart before it begins. Got to make sure you have time for relationship also. Going to bars alone sucks but you can't learn swimming without the water.
