Ususally once I can tell that that's the case I run for the hills, unless of course I'm only in it for the sex myself.

However I happen to really -really- like my current hookup. But last night he admitted to me as we were fooling around that he had trouble getting it up because he couldn't stop thinking about how things were with his ex, whom he was with for about three years. At first I thought it was because I said I wouldn't give him a blow job, but that hit me like a ton of ****ing bricks.
Maybe it's because I was high but I couldn't comfortably be there knowing that he was just comparing everything I did to his previous relationship. So we decided to go upstairs and join the party and who should be there but his ex.

Man, she's ****ing weird. She acts like some middle aged housewife. And they're still best friends??? Like. I only knew it was her through facebook creeping but she came right up to me and was like OMG RYAN'S TOLD ME SO MUCH ABOUT YOU.

I mean. I shouldn't care because I'm not looking for something long term and especially since he's going back to school in september. But I just can't help super adoring him. Is it worth letting my guard down and hoping that I'm really not just a rebound? Or should I say something about it?? OR WHAT I don't ****ing know.

Maybe it is all about the bjs.

idk. i have had two rebounds in my life and i've been with one for almost 2.5 years. but we were mutual rebounds so maybe that's why it worked.

the first guy though, i don't see anything that would have ended up into something more. and i still question this one all the time except now i feel i've put so much time and real feelings into this that i should try to work harder at it.

i think though once you've established rebound-ship. you're pretty much lost at sea. have you guys done it since? was he able to get it up then? because now i'd just think about everytime he got it up it was because he was thinking about his ex.

Yeah, he could get it up later in the evening. But I definitely thought it was only because he saw his ex at the party.

She and I look nothing alike. And I don't know her at all so I don't know what her personality is like. But I really think I'm over thinking it.
I asked him if he wasn't attracted to me. Because she's like petite and curvy and I'm like a foot taller than she is and like 20 lbs lighter (which I'm working on fixing).
But he said no and that he just put a lot of walls up after they broke up so he has a hard time making himself vulnerable
This is going to sound so conceited but I'm used to the guys I'm with like barely being able to keep it in their pants when I'm with them.

It made me feel so so so unattractive so I went home and ate brownies and ice cream and pretzels and hummus because I want my goddamn *** back

Weirdly, I think mutual rebounds often really work as relationships. My best friend's been in a relationship like that for a year, and I've never seen her happier. I wonder if there's something about both coming into the relationship equally... vulnerable isn't the right word, but emotionally open, maybe, that just sets things up in a healthier way?

Anyway, BT, it's a real shame he's SO hung up on her. I wouldn't stick around - it'll totally **** your self-esteem.
