ok, I met a girl at a gig and got her number. pretty good going, first remote possibility since I split up with my ex, BUT ok, it turns out she's from far far away, New Zealand, and is studying here for like 6 months (though she might even be here less time) so my question is, huh?
because like, there is no possible chance of any sort of relationship. It's not even the same as striking one up with someone on her course. I work, she's studying, I will see her maybe twice a week, three times, at least initially, I wouldn't want to spend every day with someone I just met anyway. Also, if I was in a foreign country, I would probably want to spend quite a large percentage of the time taking day trips and weekend trips and doing things and a prospective relationship would more get in the way. So yeah...
Ok, it's possible she just gave me it without thinking, seemed like a good idea at the time so now what?
do I totally just forget it? maybe I seem stupid for contacting her because she's already considered this and if she hasn't I dunno, do I just walk her down the path of pointless outcomes anyway, just because it might be fun for a bit? She was quite nice and I don't feel good about just brushing her off like that. | this post struck me as all about second guessing her, working out her motives, future decisions. but she can do all that for herself and your job is to ask for what you want regardless.
oh if only it were that simple. |
