dont worry , i think it just takes time for the whole break part fades, it might be longer than u want, but if there was a friendship b4 , im sure there can be again. Im on friendly terms with some of my exs, it just all depends on who ended it and for what reasons, but time is a great healer.

i do think it's possible but it's very rare and very hard.

i'm friends with my ex but that's only really possibly because he moved to another state. we tried to be friends when he was living near me and we ended up either having stupid fights about stuff you wouldn't fight with anybody else about or sleeping together.

i think it takes a long time and most of that time has to be spent apart for it to work. otherwise you never really get over all those romantic feelings and you get jealous etc.

It's extremely hard. I find it hard even now to deal with seeing my ex at the train station every week, let alone trying to make a friendship work.

I've done it once and it was a very rewarding friendship. We're back together now, actually, but were just best friends for a long time. You cannot be friends with an ex when you still have feelings for him. and you have to be honest with yourself about whether you do -- you tend to start saying you're over him just when you accept that the relationship is over but it takes longer than that. You probably are trying too soon, and maybe too hard. A friendship shouldn't be hugely difficult. If it's hard and painful it's not going to be a beneficial friendship anyways. We tried to be friends before we were ready, and we just wound up hurting each other over and over. We had to go awhile without talking at all and wait till we were totally over each other before it could happen.
