Well I have a story which sort of relates.

I have a friend I used to be much closer to when I was younger who is possessive of and slightly cruel to the collection of love interests ( almost all of his female friends, no reciprocation needed) he keeps in regular rotation. We have no actual contact anymore but I talk to him sometimes online because he's still an interesting/good enough person and I'm familiar with him. When he starts making comments I don't like, I stop talking to him online but he's always on my myspace/msn list. Which is as extensive as our relationship will ever be.

He is very smart, funny, and creative. He's not a random idiot and we do have worthwhile conversations.
