| | | anyone else getting married? pff what a hell of alot of organising goes into getting married. We're getting married on 15-10-2009, yet somehow I feel the need to organise everything NOW.
I found an amazingly cute location for the party, which won't be huge (50 ppl), and there a buffet style diner for 25, and a party for 50 will cost 2100 euro's which is amazing and 400 euro below budget! Im so excited, we're gonna go and taste the food etc soon and then probably book the place.
We also found an amazing location for the wedding itself. It's an building from the late 1500's, called the devilshouse as there are alot of devils hanging from the outside of the house, its such an amazing building..
so, anyone else planning a wedding? |

| | | My friend just got married. It was beautiful... and ridiculously expensive I imagine. I can post soppy pictures of dresses/location if you want.

| | Well, first of all, congratulations!
And I think you're wise to look into the bits that you can organize ahead of time, such as locations (those both sound amazing, btw!).
I just have one question: Are you soon going to begin driving yourself and everyone else completely mad w/ "OMG dresses gowns tuxedoes flowers cake DRESS DRESS DRESSSESSSSSS??"
Bc. If so, um. Warn everyone concerned to lay in a supply of Valium well in advance, or you may find yourself murdered in your sleep by a cabal of your bridesmaids, mother, mother-in-law-to-be, and assorted friends and bystanders. lol
Half the immediate known universe seems to have gotten/be getting married this spring/summer/autumn in my immediate world. Have spent since about Feb. going to bridal showers, being in 1 wedding and gonna be in another over my strenuous objections but wtf. Also there have been ridiculous amounts of parties bc of same.
Yours sounds low key-ish and lovely. Not a thousand people nor tons of high-powered anxiety, right?
Good for you sweetie.
Chyia, contemplating my srsly ridic gown imma hafta wear in this upcoming wedding (blergh) |

| | | congrats!
One of my closest friends just got married last weekend. She came to me in June (yes.. 2 months ago) and asked me to plan it since she felt she was pretty hopeless in that department. We spent just over $1000 and it was beautiful, simple and classy. I think it can be really easy to get caught up in the whole "wedding industry", but when you really think about all you need and what you really want, it shouldn't put you in debt for years to come. |

| | mcheerio, I agree.
Our wedding is gonna be simple, fun, and just for us, our closest family and best friends. I am pretty good when it comes to keeping a budget, and so far I've managed to find things at even lower prices then I imagined.
We needed a car to drive us around, and I know that oldtimers are very lovely, but I don't really want to take pics with a car (why do it if it isnt yours?) so basically we just needed a classy car to drive us from one location to the next.
So, I found this car:
for 100 euro's, total cost of driving us around for two hours. pretty cool huh? |

The car is okay. I'd say the perfect car would be little bit more classic, not necessarily an oldtimer (I agree it's silly to pose with a car for wedding pics), but just something über-stylish.
I''m supposed to get married for almost 3 years but we're always broke. And we don't even want a diner/party at all. Just the act itself is too expensive. (We MUST get a marriage settlement as I run my own business and it's at least 300 €.)
Please post pictures (especially of wedding gowns) so I can drool...
I'll try to find some myself. I want one with white and black flowers. What are you gonna get? |

| | | i'm getting married in december. everything's mostly planned except for a few minor details. i figure we'll probably wrap things up in september and then just relax til the week of. the beauty of small, non-traditional weddings with minimal amount of guests. i didn't want to have to plan much more than if we were throwing a party. |

What are you gonna get? | if you dont have alot of money to spend try anastasi.nl this woman lives in nieuwegein near Utrecht, and she makes amazing wedding dresses for an ok amout of money. My mum is buying mine and I'd feel bad if she had to buy me a really expensive dress. I've seen dresses she made and she's amazingly talented. She has 3 collections, but you can modify everything or just come in with your own design.
I love these, but not the colours so much
love this top:
dont like the colours so much but love the shape:
I think I like red
about the car, yeah I kinda agree but I can't be arsed to pay more for a car, and this will do for us. |

| | That red dress would certainly suit you very well, if I remember what you look like correctly... More sultry castle lady than innocent blushing bride, right?
I like these:
I reckon I won't get a *real* wedding gown as I would look short and troll like whereas a short dress makes me look super great. I'll probably design and make it myself and ask my fashioner designer friend to help me with the pattern. |
