I thik it depends on how understanding you think your boyfriend will be? If he's likely to freak out & maybe end your relationship you're probably best off not saying anything, as long as you know it was a mistake & will never happen again.

If you really love your boyfriend and you want to be with him, put this down to an one off bad experience that will never happen again and don't mention it.
Cut all ties with your ex and his new girlfriend and just be civil rather than great friends with them. It's never going to work otherwise and situations like this will just keep happening.
