Well no, they can express that they find you attractive, but you want him to be incredibly specific, and far as I can tell, you want him to tell you what he likes so you obsess about what he, by process of deduction, doesn't. Like any other guy, he's probably scared to tell you what he likes for fear that you'll take it as a sign that you need to change everything else about yourself.

Well that's just gay. Chances are he won't want you to change, because guys tend to play the odds and put up with a few things rather than risk trying to change them and get canned. We get freaked out if people are too eager to please us. You get that, right?

Well, I don't really know what to say here. When you say you want both, are you saying you do want a daddy substitute? Cuz no matter how all about honesty you are... you should never ever tell him that, and maybe talk to your shrink about it. If you don't want to do that, at least look up "elektra complex" on Wikipedia.

Fact is, no matter what you want, it's not a boyfriend's job to stand in for your absent father. Sucks but it's true.
