Do you just say it when you feel it? I'm too scared to tell my boyfriend that I love him out of fear of his reaction. I feel like it's going to slip out one of these days. Any good stories and horror stories of those words being exchanged or well not?

the first time i said it to my bf we were fighting. i was upset about something and he said "why do you stay with me then?" and i yelled, "because i fucking love you!" followed by shocked silence. it was not very romantic or nice.

8 months, we're bad about talking about our feelings. The only time we really did was when we almost broke up a few months back.

i think 8 months is enough time to know.

i say tell him. don't be scared of what he'll say, you have to be honest about how you feel.

It would probs be best to say "I think I'm in love with you" rather than "I love you"

Yeah, or maybe "I could fall in love with you (someday)" or something similar to that.

You'd think maybe one of you might have hinted around within the 8 months that you have been together.

Maybe you should consider the possible outcomes before you say it, or start hinting around,now.

Another thing is I don't know if it matters who says it first. Just food for thought.

How would I hint it?
We have an odd relationship, we dated without a title for almost 3 months. When I was out with him at a club about a month ago, just like heaven by the cure came on and he mouthed the lyrics 'i'm in love with you' to me. I don't believe that counts though.

I mean if you are sure about your feelings, and feel secure about your relationship it shouldnt be a problem? right?
I mean..

All relationships are different and we've had a few rough patches. He's awful with his feeling which makes it a lot harder. I'm going to say it, I just feel like it might end our relationship if he doesn't feel the same.

i told my husband i loved him the weekend we met. we knew each other from kr though.

i dont understnad being able to keep something like that secret. if i feel it i share it. i dont understand boundaries.

I once said it to someone out of habit. I was used to saying it constantly to my ex and I say I love you to my family when I'm saying goodbye everyday and I went out with this person as a kind of rebound and ended up saying it by mistake... it took me a while to try to convince him I didn't mean to say it, it was a very horrible situation.

i think it's best to say exactly what you're feeling when you're feeling it. don't waste the opportunity.
hearing that someone loves you isn't the worst thing, ya know.
