| | | my friend made me her maid of honor... then DEMOTED ME! WTF?!
i mean in reality i'm GLAD because i hate weddings, and i didn't really want to be her bitch for the next year and a half (she is demanding enough as it is, nevermind being the bride-to-be)....
but this is so cussy!
okay i'm actually lying a bit -
first she told me if she ever got married, i'd be the maid of honor. but she has this other friend that lives in another city that she has been friends with for longer. but i'm really her best friend, cuz i see her all the time, and the other best friend, they talk to each other like twice a year.
but anyway then she actually go engaged, and made the other girl the maid of honor. so i was like whatever i don't really care that much..
THEN she had a change of heart, felt bad because i'm REALLY her best friend, and how do you have a maid of honor who lives a thousand miles from you (wouldn't make a very good bitch now would it???) ...
she did'nt think the other friend would mind, so she was all YOU ARE NOW MY MAID OF HONOR! so we ran with that for a few weeks, and then when she told the other friend, she spazzed and was like I AM NOT RENOUNCING MY MAID OF HONOR STATUS! HELL NO! AND NOT FOR HER! FORGET IT!
so now i am back to being a bridesmaid... but i am sensing some definitely awkwardness when the real maid of honor finally starts coming around to do wedding-y things with my friend.
as i said before..... WTF????? |

I'm not even bridesmaid at my half sister's wedding.
We were never close close or even lived in the same house but still. |

| | | see this is what i mean.
i mean, i know she was plotting on demoting the other friend to make ME the maid of honor, but still! i am not the other friend, i am me, and now it's going to be weird, and PLUS: my friend already plotted with me about her dress styles, etc, and her plan was that she would (obviously) have the best dress ever, and then her maid of honor would have like a mini version of her dress! and then the bridesmaids, would have ugly dresses!
i don't want the ugly dress goddammit! |

| | | because she hates one of her bridesmaids (her sister-in-law) and wants to make her wear an ugly dress. and now I'M one of the bridesmaids, so instead of getting the toned down version of the sweet-ass wedding gown, i will get some ugly thing, which i HELPED HER PLOT! unfair. |

| | | what would absolutely kill her would be if she was NOT the absolute centre of attention. she is ALWAYS like this, so i imagine her wedding will be even worse. all i really have to do is SOMETHING to drag even the slightest bit of attention away from her.
like wear red lipstick. or different colored shoes than everyone else. or have hot pink toe nail polish. anything like this i think would make her jealous. funny but true! |

| | | as childish and petty as the bride sounds, it is HER wedding.
if it was MY wedding and you altered the bridesmaid dress or ffs, showed up wearing WINGS, i'd strangle you.
be the bigger person. just suck it up and wear the dress. when your day comes, you'll get your chance to make the rules. |

it's her wedding. she's allowed to be the center of attention. |

| | Aye, fuck it, like Lissie says it's her day so you just have to play along. Even if she has you dressed in something hideous.
TBH, I hardly notice the bridesmaids, and I never ever remember what they wore. I never understood why there needs to be so many of them anyway, when just one will suffice. It's especially odd having one that she doesn't even like. WTF?
Having said all that, I hardly even remember what the bride or anyone else wears either. And I don't tend to remember much about weddings at all, b/c you're just a lowly guest at a big party after all. I think most of the weddings that are huge affairs are a tremendous waste of money and effort, so I'm not the right person to be contributing here, really.
Agreed that she sounds a bit immature to be getting married. But then weddings do that to some women. You'll have a reasonable person, but as soon as that engagement ring hits the finger, they turn into these mad perpetually stressed-out nutters that are determined to have a perfect all-attention-on-me day.
I'll probably never get married.

| | lol this is what i would do if i had MY WAY. clearly that will never happen with this friend anyway. i'm just cussed on the demotion. it's thr principle of it. and especially knowing that she's going to have me in a hideous dress (that was supposed to be for the others...) makes it worse. |

| | | This very recently happened to my best friend...except the girl dropped her out of the wedding party altogether...
...and then sent her a rude myspace message about not coming to see her (the bride-to-be) enough, and about hating friends with children.
I wanna smack the girl. Having a family or getting married is not license to be a total cunt. |

I refuse to die until I have been somebody's best man. I know of a couple of potential candidates/victims, but I had better keep currying favour.
