| | | siblings a few questions:
-how well do you and your sibling(s) get along?
-do you have similar personalities, or are you completely different from each other?
-are you closer to your brother/sister than you are with your parents?
-do you think you would be a different person if you did not have a brother/sister? how much do you think they have influenced who you are as a person?

| | | -my brother and i weren't so close when we were kids, because there was always a sense of rivalry between us and we'd wind up fighting over stupid things. but lately (during the past few years, when both of us got older) it feels like we are almost best friends. i feel like he's one of the most trustworthy people in my life.
-we are two very different people. but somehow, we get along really well.
-no. i mean, the level of closeness between my brother and i is nearly the same as is between me and my parents, but only a little bit less.
-i don't know. i should probably think this over. |

very very well. My sister and I can't spend too much time together without starting to snap at eachother, but we call often and when we do get to see each other, we have a great time. My brother and I have no problems getting along and never have. -do you have similar personalities, or are you completely different from each other?
my sister's a little more highstrung than my brother and I and needs to have a lot of control. My brother and I are exactly alike - really laid back, and him now being 16, I can see a lot of what I was like at 16 in him.. any topic that he has a lot of interest in, he dives into and won't shut up about - that was most definitely me. He's also pretty lazy like I was/am -are you closer to your brother/sister than you are with your parents?
no. We're a very close family and I'm equally close to my parents and my siblings. -do you think you would be a different person if you did not have a brother/sister? how much do you think they have influenced who you are as a person?
- absolutely. I don't think I would be as good at what I do for a living as I am if they hadn't been in my life. Having younger siblings to take care of and interact with made me a much more patient, laid back and compassionate person. |

| | | A. I get along swimmingly well with my brothers. They are 15 years older than me and we have never lived under the same roof. In fact there were long stretches of time where I only saw them a handful of times each year. Lately I am in more regular contact with one of them. I am the only relative he'll speak with civilly aside from his own daughter though. HOWEVER they can hardly be in the same room with one another for very long without violently arguing or at least harboring tension.
B. My mom told me I am a split combination of both, only with better opportunities than either had. I think I relate best to the one I speak with more, as mentioned above. I'm also a sort of outsider compared to the extended family, but I have a really close friendship with my dad and get along reasonably okay with our mom, whereas he won't speak with his father and openly despises our mother.
C. Nope. Both of my brothers are working toward a closer relationship with me, but as they were when they were my age, I've got my hands full elsewhere. I try to not blow them off though and return phone calls.
D. Honestly, I've always felt more like an only child than a sibling as it is, so, no. If my mom's fourth pregnancy would've went to term, my life would've been entirely diffent. I would've had a sibling 3 years younger than me that I would've had to live with, as opposed to being the "baby" |

My sister and I get along fairly well, sometimes hard to get on with her seeing as she's at that moody teenager stage in life. I never really got on with my brother until he moved out, we get along okay now.
-do you have similar personalities, or are you completely different from each other?
Nope- we're all different really. Apart from my sister and I tend to say the same thing at the same time every now and then which is abit strange when it happens.
-are you closer to your brother/sister than you are with your parents?
Hmm, don't think so, we're a close family really.
-do you think you would be a different person if you did not have a brother/sister? how much do you think they have influenced who you are as a person?
Im not sure. |

| | | -I have two younger brothers and when I was younger, my littlest brother and I got along best. Now, my middle brother and I get along great. I can finally take him to parties. haha.
-We have completely individual identities, but find the same things funny or stupid, and have similar judgements of other people.
-When it comes to things that we can't talk about with our parents, we can tell each other and it makes us closer in a different sense.
-do you think you would be a different person if you did not have a brother/sister? how much do you think they have influenced who you are as a person? If I didn't have younger siblings, I wouldn't try so hard to model my behavior. It's also cool to know you're influencing your siblings...with music, etc. |

i have two sisters, and we get along great for the most part. the oldest and i fight a bit but it's mostly all in fun and hardly ever serious. we're not as close as i am with my other sister though. -do you have similar personalities, or are you completely different from each other?
my oldest sister and i are very much alike. she's a bit meaner than i am, and she has a quick wit that i envy. my other sister is complete opposite from both of us. she's very nice and sweet and laid back. -are you closer to your brother/sister than you are with your parents?
yes. my sisters know pretty much all there is to know. i tend to keep the bad stuff from my parents. -do you think you would be a different person if you did not have a brother/sister? how much do you think they have influenced who you are as a person?
yes. they are a bit older than me, 9 and 11 years, so when i was a child i learned a lot that i probably would not have known until high school had they not been there. |

we get along now that we are older but growingup we couldn't even be in the same room together too long before fighting started. do you have similar personalities, or are you completely different from each other?
we are quite different in most ways but when we are together it's very obvious that we are brothers. are you closer to your brother/sister than you are with your parents?
very close with my mum. i see my brother 2-3 times a year and it's "hey, how are you?" kinda chat, nothing in depth. do you think you would be a different person if you did not have a brother/sister? how much do you think they have influenced who you are as a person?
yes, to be honest if i had grown up without a brother i'd be very different. he casued a lot of trouble and it really took it's toll on our family. it made me grow up and be very self sufficient at an early age.
---
my cousin who is 1.5 years younger than me is more like a brother. we grew up together and to this day are still the best buds. i adore his wife and kids and spend more time with them than anyone else in my family. we are very close and i was his best man at his wedding and his wife calls me just to chat. when i am at their house i fell totally at home and do my own thing. they have two kids who i consider more my nephews than my brothers two kids. the oldest is the coolest kid and he and i get along so well. he even comes to stay with me for the weekend every now and then, just to hang out in the city and get away from his parents.
