I think it depends 100% on the person. Some people can be mature for their age, others very immature, so it could work out nicely. If you like him, go for it.. as long as it's all still legal.

I wouldnt call it natural, just more common. I guess thats the case cuz girls like to feel protected, and if theyre with an older guy, then they feel safer. If course, not all older guys are mature for their age, but the ones that are, can make it work. As long as its legal, and no one that isnt them doesnt have a problem with it, then its fine.
