So the wedding was on Sarurday August 18th - it was sunny up to the point where the speeches were being made, when it started tipping down with rain! But, that was fine since by then we were all in the marquee anyway, and I love the sound of rain on canvas.
So many things didn't go to plan - I was up until after midnight on the Thursday night, with mum frantically altering my dress! My mum was the wedding coordinator, and to say that she had everything in hand would be a lie - I was worried that it would all go horribly wrong (she's got an alcohol problem so you can understand my concern). Thankfully, nothing went disasterously wrong and the fact that we didn't have a seating plan, that the sugar bowls didn't have sugar in, the only reason the lighting worked is because my uncle happens to be an electrician and had his tools with him (the marquee hire company wired it all up wrong), that we never got around to serving tea or coffee and that I didn't get around to throwing the bouquet before I realised that most of the single women had gone home (after 11pm) all didn't matter.
It was such a romantic, emotional wedding - everyone was crying, including the vicar! Well, except for me - I had a huge grin on my face the whole time.
In that picture, you can see my parents' house in the background - it's the green one - they live
that close to the church!
Here I am hugging the vicar - you can see the merry band of musicians we had there. We had a promenade along the high street towards the car park we were using, and the musicians played along the whole way. It was very special and romantic and we didn't care that we were holding up traffic!
Here I am singing along to Queen - I get very emotive on those occasions.
Best cake ever! It was a cannoli cake - angel food cake steeped in cointreau and apricot conserve with ricotta and orange chocolate filling and icing mmmm
My mum made each of the 12 cakes herself!
There's always one doing the "bunny ears" thing, isn't there?
