if it didn't, did age play a role?



im asking because i currently in like with someone 10 yrs older than me. granted its not going to happen anytime soon, she's got a gf...but there is a ridiculous connection between us thats almost palpable. Its not like anything i've ever felt.
about the gf though...f anything were to happen between us it would be not in the near future and i wouldnt let it happen if she were still with her.
things arent going so well with the gf, but its not because of me or any of that. i would never want to be her rebound of sorts.

like many things in relationships, age is only an issue if it's made into one. as people get older the gap lessons too. usually it comes down to what you're used to. As there's 10 years between my parents and I'm not a teenager, the gap wouldn't bother me but there's a big difference between a 25 year old dating someone 10 years older and a 15 year old...

I don't think it's an issue, but it depends on the person.

when I was 18 I dated a 28 year old. That didn't work out because of his personality.

then, when I was still 18, i dated a guy who was about to turn 30. It went great at first, but then he became really patronizing towards me. This may just be his personality, but it could also be because I was a lot younger that him that he felt he could treat me like that.

it can work out though. Just because it didn't work out so far for me, doesn't mean I'll stop dating older guys.

i was with someone 11 years older than me for 3 years, from 16-19, and it was mostly a healthy, happy relationship. in the end i guess age was a factor, i changed as a person in a short space of time (as you do when you're this young) and he just wasn't my type any more.
i've never dated anyone younger than me.
my current boyfriend is the only person i've been with my own age, it took some getting used to.
age difference has never bothered me, its such a silly little thing to get hung up about. if you like each other and you get on and its not illegal then fuck it.

Age should not be an issue. I generally like younger men, but sometimes i feel like a dirty old woman - mostly because of other people's opinions, not mine. I slept with a guy who was 19 when i was 29. He was VERY young in terms of experience...but i soon changed that. Its annoying sometimes having to teach them though. If i was gonna have another serious relationship i'd probably prefer it to be with someone older. The oldest i've dated was 7 years older than me.

i've dated guys 10 years my age on both sides and prefer older guys. they know what they want, don't generally play games and have thier shit together.

neither worked out. age was sort of an issue with the younger guy (i was only 18, it wasn't creepy, i promise) because his parents were crazy. as in send-your-kid-to-camp-to-make-him-straight crazy. so everything was behind their backs.

age wasn't really a problem with the older guy. we both had our own issues that we needed to sort out but couldn't at the time so it fizzled down into nothing. i loved him but i never told him that. i imagine he still has no clue. he was the best guy i was ever with other than my current.

the biggest age gap i've had in a relationship is 5 1/2 years. i was 18 when we got together and he was nearly 24. we were together for 18 months and the age gap was never really an issue.

i've never really been with anyone younger than me, except for sleeping with one of my friends at uni for a couple of weeks, but the age gap was so tiny (he was 4 months younger) that it was irrelevant.

my fiance is a year older than me. most of the guys i've been out with have been 1 or 2 years older.

when i was 17 i dated a 46 year old man . i would never do it again . i really regret it .
10 years seems fine though .

Eleven and a half years older is the highest.

Three years younger is the lowest.

The young boy made me feel dirty in a wrong way. The old guy made me feel dirty in a good way because I knew he was lucky to be having me.
