long distance relationships?

Anyone else in them? Or have experience or viewpoints?

I'm in college in california (even though I might transfer somewhat closer, to florida, which I've been wanting to do since before we got together), my boyfriend's in college in alabama. We're on the phone for hours almost every day, but it's hard not having the person there. We just got back together when I was home for spring break, so for that week we were together a lot but I'm still in the stage of wanting to be around him all the time. I trust him completely so I'm not paranoid but jealousy is in my nature, and it feels icky sometimes.

Anyways, discuss.

Red face

I've been in a long-distance relationship for nearly eight months now. It's really hard and I miss her a lot. But if you love the person enough, you really just need to keep in mind that it will get better, that after college, you two will be able to be together. That really helps me, knowing that after she graduates next year, she's moving here. Don't give up on someone because you're far apart. <3

How far are you away from each other in terms of time?

I've been with my boyfriend for 9 months now, and 7 of those months have been long-distance. It's really difficult sometimes, but we talk on the phone a lot, send emails, and snail mail sweet things. I'm lucky that I get to take the Greyhound to visit him about once a month because a lot of people aren't close enough to do that inexpensively. Sometimes I can't sleep at night because I can't feel him beside me, and I hate that we can't always be there to share one another's special moments like getting a new job, or playing a gig, or what have you. We always have these tearful goodbyes that I absolutely dread.

Fortunately, we will be moving together in the summer. We're both too excited for words!

my best friends boyfriend lives about 100 miles away from her so she doesnt get to see him much. They're still going strong nd she drives up as much as possible (He cant come donw he has a job) But even though its very one sided they're in love, happy and i think she likes the challenge a bit too

My sister had one going on for about a year, then she moved to France(where her bf lives) and now they're engaged to be married in August.
So it worked for her.
