| | | well, i dont know if i should post this... but i'm going to as if my life wasn't dramatic enough..
last quarter i had a professor, a really great professor. i got an A+ in the class, and it was well deserved on my part, i really worked hard.
anyhow, said professor and i regularly emailed about the class and other things, and at the end of the quarter (2 weeks ago) he invited me to have dinner at his house. and i said yes, because that's a really huge honor.
and when i arrived, it was just he and i. i mean, that's not necessarily indicative of anything, but i had presumed it'd be me and his wife, and some other students.
anyway, dinner was totally relaxed and fine. just a student and professor.
and then here's the random kicker: when i arrived, he kissed me (but he's european, and it was one of those cheek-cheek ones, and that's fine), but when i left, he kissed me, kissed me. full on 4-5 seconds, and then i pulled back- gave him the 'wtf was that?' look, and he gave me the 'wtf were you expecting?' face.
am i a retard? did i miss all that..
was he setting that up all along and i just missed it? am i naive? is he saying things like 'you're one of the most talented students i've ever had' (and this from a guy who used to teach at Stanford, come on, there's no way i'm more talented than a stanford student...)? but, why would he even pick me?he could have his choice of jessica-simpson looking sorority girls if he was just looking to get in a undergrad's pants??
or am i totally over-reacting, he's just european, and that's the way it goes. he means nothing by it.
AND
since that happened, he's emailed twice to let me know that he nominated me for an academic award, and asking me to be his TA for a freshman seminar he's teaching this quarter, and wants me to come over for dinner again to discuss this.
wtf?
please note that he's married (for like more than 10 years), has like 3 dozen published books, an oxford grad and former stanford professor. but is also a hippie. and that he's in he's 51 (and i'm 21) but hot. |

| | | no though, but if you're just a creepy professor who likes to get in college girls pants, why wouldn't you pick the hottest of the hot girls? i mean, if you're gonna do it, you might as well do it as best you can.
and i'm not one of them. |

| | | I don't think you are stupid enough to think it was all innocent on his part, and in the back of your mind you were loving the attention and knew you would be the only one there.
He didn't go for the hot chicks because he knows he has no chance so it would be a waste of time and not worth the risk on his ' professional reputation'. Whereas going for one of the lesser-lights is more likely to get him laid with less risk of losing his job or being rejected, as they are more likely to lap up the attention and not make a big scene over it as a result.
It's all about compromise and risk management. |
