ok, so i'm on the mini pill cerazette, i never seem to remember to take it at the right time though, but I ALWAYS take it. Stupidly last night/ this morning, i ended up having unprotected sex (except for the pill of course) with my ex boyfriend. Which is so totally stupid of me, because he does sleep around abit and i'm never,ever so stupid normally. Will the pill be ok though? even though i dont take it at the right time all the time? Or would it be safer to take the morning after pill? I feel like *such* a stupid bitch.

i think with microgynon, if you take it within 12 hours of when you were supposed to take it you should be ok.

i don't know if that applies to all pills though, so probably best to get the morning after pill just to be sure.

and maybe set a reminder on your phone to take it at the same time every night, until you get used to taking it at that time.

i dont understand why you are mentioning your ex sleeps around and the pill in the same thought. You seem to be worrying about pregnancy but the sleeping around part should make you worry about stds and a pill aint gonna help you with that.

You take the pill every single day, just at different times? I think it should still be effective. I wouldn't worry that much about pregnancy in this case. Maybe you should get tested for STDs though.

My doctor told me recently that with the mini-pill you really have to take it on time everyday or it doesn't work properly so maybe you should get the morning after pill.

I'd get the morning after pill, because with mini pills, you have a MUCH smaller window of time in which you should take the pill (it really needs to be around an hour), whilst with the combined pill, it can be up to 12 hours. Always better to be safe then having to deal with an abortion.

Thanks for all the advice, i went to the doctors and he gave me the one step morning after...but he said it still might not work...so i've taken it and we shall see I guess. At least I don't feel as worried now.

You have to take the pill at the same time for it to be at its most effective. Taking it at different times is better than not taking it at all and if you're off by just a bit of time, you should be ok. But, cherries darling, like you've done the right thing by going to the doctor. These things happen so don't be too hard on yourself. You'll probably be ok because it was a one time thing and you're paranoid. Paranoia will make you take good care of yourself sometimes!

If it weren't for my cell phone alarm, I would forget to take my pill too. Maybe you'll need a more forgiving formulation if there's such a small window of time in which you can forget with the mini pill. And just have some rubbers handy for the next time you and the ex roll around.

Sadly my doctor is one to look on the black side..seriously, if you're foot hurts he'll tell you to get your leg amputated...so he was really stressing the fact that I must take a test as this probably wont work (although I don't see why not, it was within the 72 hour time frame). Saw the ex last night and *that* was dreadful, he actually denied it happened!!! (at first). I told him that I had to take the morning after pill because I thought it may shock him into not behaving that way again (i'm shocked and scared myself)...although he is normally insistant on condoms. All he said at first was "i'm with (we'll call the new girl ethal) ethal. I love ethal". So I said "oh right, that's why you cheat on her all the time". Anyway, in the end he wavered through saying if you are, get rid of it, to telling me I shouldn't. I'm sure I will be totally fine...and i really hope I am..because this is such a mess.

It sounds like your doctor is being a bit alarmist. But you've done what you can and it is likely you are not pregnant. Will you get screened for STI's in a few weeks?

Usually wait just a few weeks so that stuff can show up. Verify this with your doctor or a clinic if you'd rather get tested somewhere else.

well, since she's as boring as a 90 year old, i thought i'd go with a fitting name.

I was on cerazette before having the implant fitted, and it is the only mini pill which can be taken at different times each day, you can take it up to 12 hours late which is why most doctors will try to prescribe it to anyone who is switching pills. Any other mini-pill has to be taken at the same time each day for it to be effective.

I did a test today and i'm not pregnant!! yay The ex has not even bothered responding to the text i sent him to tell him, which is lovely of him really...you can always rely on Simon to do absoultely fuck all in situations like this. I have an STD test booked in for next wednesday, hmm....

While we're on the subject, is anyone else on cerazette? I am, and the side effects are a joke.
