Any ideas anyone? All suggestions appreciated.
(His birthday's just been and I got him aftershave and a CD so I can't repeat either of these things.)

| | | I'm so fucking lucky my boyfriend doesn't celebrate christmas. It was a major bitch trying to get him to tell me what he wants for his birthday. We ended up settling on a tattoo. |

| | | I got mine Mr Jones' Rules For Modern Man. Its quite funny and quite useful (tells you how to do lots of stuff, like how to get over a hangover, how to behave in a strip club, how to ask for a pay rise, stuff like that) but it really depends on the guy. I love new books, so I think I project that onto the boy. |

| | | I have no idea what to get mine either. I read some study that says people are better at picking out good gifts for strangers than for those they are in intimate relationships with because, with strangers, you rely heavily on steretypical cues, which are supposedly quite accurate when it comes to picking out presents. So I suppose I can just pretend I don't know the guy when I actually get around to Christmas shopping, which I haven't. I'll have to try that with my mother's gifts too. She's always the hardest to shop for.
Him saying he got me perfect things doesn't help either but we shall see.
Some general ideas:
tickets
nice watch
nice coat
food, especially homemade baked goods
hobby stuff (guitars, bikes, etc)
music
books |

| | | my boy likes wine, so one year for valentine's day i did a little gift bag type thing for him. i put in a wine chiller, a really nice corkscrew, a couple bottles of his favorite wine and some other things that i can't remember right now because i've had a few glasses myself this evening. good luck, i know how frustrating gift buying for the significant other can be. |

| | | my boyfriend is a funny lad, always up for a laugh, like his drink, smart clothes etc..
so i went into town and just looked around for things that reminded me of him. got him a drinking game, vodka set with cufflinks in it, raunchy card game, a firetrap jacket and a CD
you could dress up as a sexy miss santa, and have a stocking of suprises to take into the bedroom, for example, whipped cream, strawberrys, cherries, sex toys... whatever floats...bet he wont forget christmas 2006 |

| | I agree, everything else about our relationship has been pretty straight forward.
HE's not even afraid of the forbidden "C word" (commitment)
But I really wanted something that said "I love you" without saying "I'm boring" or "I'm predictable" if you know what I mean...
The tickets and the dressing up thing combined sound perfect
Definitely not boring

This year mine gets a calendar which includes collages, cool postcards, little sketches... and i sewed a needle pillow (cause he's the one who fixes my loose buttons ) in the shape of a monster's head. he'll also get some burned cds, cookies, and i'll bring a sixpack for our own little christmas party.

| | if I'm not sure I tend to check sites like I want one of those and Find me a gift, they have some real tacky shite but they also have some really cool stuff. Obviously no good for (most) blokes, but an example of cool stuff, they have light up umbrellas they have some cool gadgety stuff for guys. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
