your first love

Do you think that, once you've had your heart broken by another person, you'll never love someone else the same way again and become sort of jaded about love in general? That you lose your childishness about it and become more cynical?

I'm too young to say "yes i've deff been in love & had my heart smashed" but i can say i've been fucked around & been hurt by it.

Once your first love ends and you think the world is over, you definitely learn a lot of things. But 99% of people get over it. It doesn't mean you will never love someone again... that is ridiculous.

I don't think you become more cynical, but you definitely learn not to get too ahead of yourself and you learn to have more realistic, mature expectations about a relationship. Like not planning your wedding after going out with someone for a week.

I learned a lot from my first love about how to treat boys. It also taught me to appreciate my friends more because they were there for me when I was 'heartbroken'. I learned not to ditch my friends for a boy - it was a learning curve though as I didn't know how much time to devote to a proper boyfriend because I'd never had one before.

My first love has now grown unattractive sideburns.

I thought I wouldn't be able to, but I'm in love right now and it's so much better then the first time around. You know a lot more and it's a more mature love. You learn a lot with your first love.
