Depends on circumstances. I drink alone sometimes, including the odd Saturday night, to get my drinking in before I meet my mates out at more expensive places. Cheapness is next to Godliness, after all.
I think what is "grosser" than drinking alone is being the only person drinking in a big group of sober people. And getting wasted.

it depends. if you're sitting around by yourself getting completely wasted on a regular basis, then yes that is quite loser-ish. only having a drink or 2 doesn't really matter.

i prefer drinking alone. i never liked it to be a social thing unless I can't stand the people I'm with and need a beer to try and be nice. I get so much done when I'm drinking alone like cleaning and burning cds for people
