Moment is history...

Doesn't it all seem kinda bland at the moment? When I look back, there were these great moments in musical history. First there were the Beatles, then all those psychedelic rock, LSD and so on, Punk, Sex Pistols in the 70s; Smiths, Joy Division in the 80s, Nirvana in early 90s, E culture and first Raves.

Don't we always hear: "Oh, I remember that were the great times!"

I'm not quite sure what's going on at the moment. Ok, I got a glimpse of the whole grunge thing and E culture, but basically I was so far away from it (geographically) that it didn't feel like I fully participated and by the time I was 17-18 it was all gone really.

Does it just feel unimportant because it's happening now or nothing's happening indeed? Is there anything now, that we would look back at in 20 years time, saying "I was THERE!" and our children would be mad envy?

What are our times gonna be remembered for? Who's gonna die young and become a God or turn into a 50 year old multimillionaires playing reunion gigs?

Innit. I don't think Orson or Snow Patrol or Keane are going down in the history books

I was going to say that the only person I can think of who might is Robbie. But it's just that he's really cool, popular and successful - he hasn't changed the world or shaped the musical landscape.

I'm stumped

it'll be the emo movement as a whole that will make it memorable. I hope to one day sit my grandkids down and say, 'kids, i used to be emo'

haha, this is sad, but i think it's true. will also be remembered for the moneymaking aspect of the music industry. the endless disposable one-hit wonders, and coldplay.
it's definitely time for a music revolution.
also, i reckon pete doherty will be up there with kurt, jim morrison, etc in about 20 years.
