I'm posting 'cause it was a really great show. I saw her a couple of months back also in Glasgow, but felt something was missing from her performance. I might not have been in the mood for it or maybe it was the fact that a 7' guy was in front of me.
Anyone correct me if I am wrong but...at the last Glasgow show Jenny didn't have a band. Jonathan Rice, who opened again tonight, played guitar and Farmer Dave accompanied them, too...but no band (as in drummer, bass player...etc).
THIS TIME she did have a band. Drummer and bass player...along with Rice and Dave.
Let me tell you, it really does make a difference. Her sound was fuller. Her songs were stronger. Though the show at Mono was quite intimate, it seemed like she had a lot more fun with this show. I believe she played three new songs, one which was called 'Jack Killed Mom'. Very much a rock/country jam. I'd say that was the climax of the show. It's hard to say, really. The venue was seating so it was harder to get the feel of the crowd.
Her setlist included the three new songs, all of the songs on the album, minus Handle With Care.
Here are some pictures. They're so blurry 'cause I was up in the balcony and because we weren't allowed to use flash.
