beacon street is waaaaaay better than the self-titled album and rock steady, you should definitely get it. imagine being able to listen to tragic kingdom for the first time again and that's the feeling you'll get - it's in a similar vein, but the songs aren't played out.
as for everything in time, it's very much an album of two parts. the first 9 tracks are out-takes and b-sides from Return of Saturn, and are a great set of songs - easily good enough to have been on the album. after that the album is a very mixed bunch... oi to the world, i throw my toys around and sail on are all pretty good, but the remix of New is a bit pointless and the remixes of whichever song it was from rock steady (i forget which as i didn't copy them onto my mp3 player) are ****ing terrible. they've got that stupid cow Ms Dynami-tee-hee on them. yuck. what a way to ruin the end of the album. but i thoroughly recommend this disc for the first three-quarters of it.
