Primus song about Courtney

It's funny how everyone wants to get their 2 cents in on someone else's tragedy..

Quote:

Primus-Coattails of a Deadman
He wasn't lookin' for fanfare or fame but it
all came around just the same. He then
met a girl with desire in her eye, he gave
her love, she took his name.

The times they were good, the times they
were bad, most times it was just in
between. The hard pill he swallowed was
the times that they had, she put on display
for all to be seen.

Some find their solace in work or the lord,
she was quite content in her dream. When
his eyes they burned from the bright lime
light, he found comfort in the bottle of Ol'
Jimmy Beam.

One day from the depths of his deep
darkened hole, he reached out for
something to feel. She offered back nothin'
but lack of respect so he left himself out
with two barrels of steel.

She cried in the day, she cried in the night.
She cried loudest when someone was near.
Whether crying for him or she cried for
herself, the bigger the camera, the bigger
the tear.

Most folks agree that she was living a hell
and publicly she showed her pain. And
never once was there a thought for
herself, and the ever-growing slices of
fortune and fame.

Now on the coattails of a dead man she'll
ride on the coattails of a dead man she'll
ride. On the coattails of a dead man she'll
ride she'll ride, on the coattails of a dead
man she'll ride she'll ride high.
You know who are they to speak out on some woman's grief? It's not their place to because they aren't in her shoes. I get sick of people turning Courtney Love into a punching bag just because she's a very open woman who carried on after her husband's suicide. So she had a career after Cobain? So did Dave Grohl and he's constantly commended for that? Rock & roll loves to hate it's women and that is why I will defend Courtney and Yoko.

What is it they want from Courtney? Would they have been happier if she just stayed in her home? No she had a band and went out on the road, if it were a man who had lost his wife and he went out on the road and expressed his grief in his performances no one would say anything. Primus need to grow up. Probably another bunch of unfairly hating Courtney Love Cobain fanboys. It's obvious Courtney was a mess and that was her way of grieving. Not everyone locks themselves away for 5 years and never says a word to someone. People grieve in different ways and if Courtney making the whole world feel and know her pain was her way of grieving than let the woman do that.

People are so blinded by their hatred for Courtney that they forget this is a woman who wasn't very stable to begin with who has just lost her husband and the father of her child in the most public way possible. How else was it going to go down?

Sorry if this post is a little dramatic but it just really pisses me off when people feel like just because they are fans of Cobain they can take it upon themselves to judge someone for how they grieve. This is why I hate Nirvana fans. "He wasn't looking for fanfare or fame" Oh SURE that's what you want to believe. Sure turn Kurt into the poor tortured saint again who never ever wanted to be a rock star or carried an ounce of ambition in him. And who are they to comment on Kurt and Courtney's relationship when only Kurt and Courtney really knew how it was. I really do hate Nirvana fans. They are the most idiotic, assuming, sexist, biased and jealous bastards. And Nirvana fans that form bands are even worst because they make shit music.

All their lyrics piss me off, but do you know for certain that this is about Courtney? I would assume so, an interview I read awhile back revealed that the band seem to have a mutual anti-Courtney attitude. Even Bob Cock announced that he wanted to kill Courtney when Primus played the Y2K Freakout in Cali. Even if there were good reason for hating Courtney, those words are just overly-transparent, unintelligent and downright lame.

And who the Hell is Primus? Some fucking metal tough-ass band?

BTW, wasn't she with him before he got famous?
And, plus, can everyone stop saying that Kurt Cobain's shit doesn't stink? Or that it's meant to be taht way so it's liek totly so much kewlerz.

This song is like a million years old. Move on, people.
Let's attempt relevance
