Small secluded villages are hard enough to run away to and disappear in when you don't have hordes or rabid fans desperate for you to be found.

I think he's probably dead by now, but I can't help but feel he faked the suicide in 1995. That report in 1998 (Richey supposedly walked into a bar in Tenerife, and fled when the bartender said "Hey, you're Richey Edwards from the Manic Street Preachers!") swayed me into believing. My opinion isn't really influenced by the other alleged sightings, but there's something very fishy about that particular incident. It's easy to decieve hordes of fans by changing your appearance. Of course, both theories surrounding his death are plausable, I'm in no position to pass judgement not having known him personally.
