What do you think of the Mars Volta?

Just like every other new hard rawk band I saw at Edgefest 2005.

Coheed & Cambria, Jakalope, Billy Talent (actually, I did like them somewhat, but GOD are they emo, songs about suicidal teens and such), Alexisonfire, Boy, and I think The Used were there, too.

Vomit. 9 hours of being hit on by drugged up old men and chubby midget vadge-horns getting ****faced behind us I'm never getting back. We couldn't even scalp the tickets for money and all the goths in the area behind us were staring at me and my friend the whole time. I ****ing hate my generation sometimes. Lots of times.

Okay, most of the time.

why would you even go to edgefest?

I like Frances the Mute. I was not that impressed with Deloused, for which tour I saw them live. They suck live.
I dont know as to the pretentious nature of their personalities?

Because! I don't know! 2003 was great, Our Lady Peace kind of sucked, but Sloan and The Tragically Hip were there. Of course so was finger eleven (HAS to be lower case, guys, liek totly kewlz and stuf) and The Stereophonics.

I keep replacing them with The Polyphonic Spree in my mind. That's an act.

In 2003, marijuana was legal here for a copuple of weeks in Ontario, so the field was just filled with this thin veil of fog, but the people there sucked at 2005 -- one high old man loving me and a bunch of people with glow sticks who were horribly out of place. Some goth kids did a Clueless-style "GAWD!" at one of the ravers who was trying to make the best out of the Jakalope gig. I almost left when Billy Talent got the audience to give the finger to Bush. I felt physically giddy and ill at the same time. YOU SHOW AMERICA, HARDRAWKERS!
