| | | Lady Sovereign Issuing Public Warning Lady Sovereign Issuing Public Warning Tuesday July 25, 2006 @ 05:30 PM
By: ChartAttack.com Staff Lady Sovereign British grime MC Lady Sovereign has taken a long enough break from saving the hoodie and dating her fans to complete her first full-length album.
Public Warning, due for release on October 3 via Def Jam, will feature 12 Sovereign songs. More than half of them have already been released on her 2005 Vertically Challenged EP or as singles.
Various outlets were reporting last year that Sovereign's debut LP would be named Straight Up Cheeky, but the rapper revealed in an interview with AllHipHop.com that the title was essentially a joke.
"People kept asking me, 'What are you gonna call your album?'" she said. "I didn't know at the time, so I was just like, 'Uhhh… Straight Up Cheeky,' so people began to get that impression."
"Love Me Or Hate Me," Public Warning's first single, hits radio next month. Lady Sovereign will perform on September 3 at Montreal's Osheaga Festival.
Here are the tracks on Public Warning:
"9 To 5"
"Gatheration"
"Random"
"Public Warning"
"Love Me Or Hate Me"
"My England"
"Tango"
"A Little Bit Of Shhh"
"Hoodie"
"Those Were The Days"
"Blah Blah"
"Fiddle With The Volume"

| | | A friend of mine who's a publicist in london said she was a total flop in the u.k, but they're really trying to push her here as they've invested a lot of money into her. I love the vertically challenged ep, and like the other songs i've heard from public warning. I told you guys that i met her in the bathroom when i saw her, right? We chatted for a bit, but then she rudely made fun of the toilet attendant's job of giving out paper towels right infront of the woman's face. And the woman was like this sweet hardworking lady in her 40's. I was not too impressed. |

| | | Oh, and she performed 5 songs and was 1.5 hours late to get to stage. Her performance of the song "public warning" killed me though, it was sooo good. |

| | | apparenlty the venue didn't fill up until the end of her set, it was an early show so i can see her being disaapointed.

| | | Did she say it or did they? Pitchfork - informative as they are - are pretentious cunts.
