I was really upset because I loved Lisa and TLC so much.

Back when CrazySexyCool came out there was a rumor going around my school that Easy E had given Lisa AIDS and she was going to die. Eventually I found out it wasn't true and felt such monster relief. It was a 90's miracle.

Then that last decade showed itself to be so different with 9/11, which was the closest I'd come to any sort of grief process at that time. Total disbelief and the gradual realization those people are never coming back. I used to automatically associate Lisa's death with that period, because I remember bargaining. It took me a while to completely grasp that she wasn't going to come back and be lisa lazarus lopez, make more music and inspire.

Lately I don't associate her with the brutish early 2000's at all and I prefer it this way. I think of the good times.

I'm happy to see such a respectful thread. I wanted to start one but couldn't stand the idea of all the assholes on this site making fun of her death because you're all so edgy.
