Maybe you hear an album at a friend's place, maybe a friend makes you a mixtape and you hear a few songs that you like, maybe you hear a few singles on the radio and decide you must have the album. However did we cope without free music on the internet, eh.

I use allmusic.com and if you sign up for an account, you can listen to 30 seconds clips of most music for free. That's been extremely handy in pointing me towards albums that I think I'll like.

i realize that. but it's self-fulfilling. no piracy -- no hear. in this case the anti-piracy logo is a negative advertising campaign. so maybe i should listen to them. oh, i guess that version makes more sense.
i've had an allmusic account forever and have never figured out why those samples don't work for me. i do www.bn.com instead.
