Talking The Cranberries/Dolores O'Riordan

Anyone else a fan of one the best ever Irish groups? Having released 6 fantastic studio albums and selling over 38million records its amazing that they don't get the recognition that they deserve. What's your favourite album/track?
Also has anyone any news on how long it's gonna be until Dolores' solo album is released? been waiting ages!!!

Favourite Album: No Need To Argue
Favourite Tracks: Empty and This Is The Day

I do not know much about them, but some of their songs are extremely special to me, as they remind me of my adolescence.

My favourite album has to be "Everybody else is doing it, so why can't we", as that's the only album of the group I own. My favourite song is "How", which in my opinion is an angry and sexy song. I totally love it; I am listening to it as I write this. I also love "Liar". "Liar", specifically, reminds me a lot of 1998 (one of the best years of my life).

i love the cranberries. hmm.. i'd say no need to argue is my favourite album, and pretty/ empty are my favourite songs by them. empty in particular because i always put it on when i'm in a miserable mood.

but yeah, they deserve more recognition. they're really quite good.

I like the band but I hate Dolores, she's against abortion she even sing about it in "the icicle met" and she plays guitar really bad...

the band have been on hiatus since 2005 so that Dolores can do her solo album...
Dolores doesn't proclaim to be the best guitarist in the world... take what Eric said; courtney wasn't very good. you dont have to be a top guitarist to be in a top band.
The abortion thing.... she's catholic

I know she's catholic and I understand perfectly her choice BUT I'm sorry her lyrics are disturbing:

"how could hurt a child
does this make you satisfied" & blablabla

Too bad bec the music is great but I can't deal with her lyrics

that's 2002. they pretty much disappeared after Stars.

my favorite album is generally Stars, but i guess L.P.-wise, it's No Need To Argue, then To The Faithful Departed.

i owned Everyone Else... and Bury The Hatchet, but they were so boring and i gave them away. i really would like to get ahold of Wake Up And Smell The Coffee, but i can't find it at a local store. i'll probably have to order it.

favorite songs: Zombie, Dreams, New New York, Salvation, The Rebels, Hollywood, Just My Imagination, This Is The Day, I Can't Be With You, Ridiculous Thoughts, Empty.

they toured from Stars' release til early 2004... the reason for the hiatus was because the guys in the band wanted to spend some time with their families and Dolores wanted to pursue a solo album which she says isn't gonna sound like the Cranberries. But they haven't split up.
All their albums are awesome... Wake Up and Smell The Coffee rocks massively but No Need To Argue is the clear winner... Faithful Departed is sooo depressing its good.

I <3 them so much. I still haven't heard a lot from them though, just a few songs...Zombie, Linger etc etc.

Dolores is simply fantastic and her voice is so unique. I'm trying to find where she lives around here and stalk her...

Thumbs up

I loved the Cranberries back in the day...but I haven't been too keen on their last couple of releases. I think their first 3 albums were the best, and while the rest had good tracks on them, they weren't as consistent as the first 3. I'm still looking forward to Dolores' solo album though.

I remember singing along to No Need To Argue at 13 (I'm 24)...I love the Cranberries. I wish they would return...

Fave songs "Empty", "Yeat's Grave", "Shattered", "How", "Ridiculopus Thoughts", "Dafodil Lament" (Live from the cranberries VHS concert)

i didn't really get into the albums until 2004, but i couldn't find any info on the tour.
p.s. few artists who take breaks to pursue solo careers come back to their bands. let's hope Dolores has sense enough not to fuck up a solo album and not go back to the C's.
