So was this like the "original" version, or the first song with that title?
At any rate... it is awful. She sounds like Eddie Vedder towards the end.

I don't know what I think of it. It's not really a bad song, but it's not at all Life Despite God. It just doesn't sound right without her shrieking the first few lines of the song. :]

I LOVE that song. It was recorded in Ventura in 2001. There's 2 versions of it-Chris Classic 1 and Chris Classic 2 both available on moonwashedrose. When she's like "Oh God I'd do anything nanana..." so great!

I've had it for a while too and it confused me.

But to my understanding I thought this song was 'life despite god' and the one on the album was 'the plague'? Sort of like the whole 'rockstar' switch on live through this? I dunno.

that's "life despite god", the version on AS is really called "evil woman blues" or "the plauge" but someone fucked it up
