Motormouth Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers has taken another swipe at emo bands, with Fall Out Boy again feeling his wrath.
Talking to NME, Flowers labelled the genre "dangerous" and said he is worried about the impact the genre is having on a whole generation of young music fans.
He snapped: "Culturally, if it gets as big (in the UK) as it is in America, it could change an entire generation of people growing up here. Emo, pop-punk, whatever you want to call it, is dangerous.
"We don't wanna dislike anyone, and we've still never met Fall Out Boy, but there's a creature inside me that wants to beat all those bands to death.
"They just all go into the happy emo funnel and everyone loves 'em without thinking. 'Oh, Fall Out Boy likes you? Fuck! I'm gonna go buy your CDs.'"

| | | I don't like either group, but at least Fall Out Boy are kind of amusing. Do The Killers have anything going for them at all? |

the killers is fucking innovative.
somebody told me is a great song. people just don't think it's cool cause it got played out and is poppy, but the synths and the morphing of the sounds was really cool. and mr brightside is a fucking good song. |

| | | I do like The Killers but until they come out with anything remotely comparable to Hot Fuss, Brandon Flowers is just a one trick pony talking out of his cocaine-encrusted shithole. |

| | | haha, emo bands vs UK wannabe retro type of indie shit bands.
Too many plural noun bands are popular over in the UK. They need to be snuffed.
Snuff them all. |

| | | I don't think I've heard Fall Out Boy, but I did watch the Mr. Brightside video for Eric Roberts being dirty. Also, when I've boozed it up enough, I have been known to dance to The Killers but I don't think I would go out of my way to put either out if they were on fire. |

| | I do not like The Killers nor the majority of the emo bands.
But I think that what Brandon Flowers said is relevant. He is thinking and questionning about the futur of music. A lot of teenagers who are for certain future musicians listen to this kind of music and will be influenced by it.
Is it a good thing? I don't know! Even if I don't like emo, I think that each artistic movement has a reason to exist. It's often a kind of revolt against the previous movement. Perhaps the futur of music will be a kind of revolt against emo. Perhaps music of the futur is going to be emo-influenced. I don't see what's wrong with this even if I don't like emo.

Ah NME; always trying to start another inter-band "feud" to fill up its pages.
