British synth-pop icons Pet Shop Boys (tickets | music) are set to return to North America with a major tour late this fall supporting their recently released new album, "Fundamental." The duo of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, who have only been making sporadic concert appearances during the last few years, have mapped out a full-on blitz this summer, with a full slate of European shows leading up to their autumnal North American dates. The full European itinerary is detailed on the group's official website.

The duo's trek through North America will begin with an Oct. 10 show in Montreal. The 23-city slate includes stops in major cities across the continent, ending with a pair of Mexico dates in mid-November.
The European tour kicks off Wednesday (June 28) in London, with the first of two shows that will find the band playing in a specially constructed venue built in the moat surrounding the Tower of London.

"Fundamental," the band's ninth studio album, and first since 2002's "Release," hit stores in June. The album contains 11 new originals penned by the duo, as well as a Dianne Warren composition entitled "Numb." The disc was produced by Trevor Horn (Paul McCartney, Tina Turner).

The album's first single, "I'm With Stupid," became a Top 10 hit upon its release in the UK. A second single, "Minimal," was released shortly after the album hit store shelves.

A streaming video of "Minimal" is currently available for viewing on the Boys' website.
